Additional Children of Salem Many of you have written to us to ask if we were going to include various children who appeared in flashbacks or other days storylines. While the children listed on this page didn't have large enough roles to deserve a page of their own, they deserve to be mentioned. Here we have included children who appeared in very short storylines, as well as those who played characters in flashbacks or flashforwards. If you can help fill in any of the gaps, please email us. 	l	baby Burt Grizzell Played by: Christina Applegate, 1972 --Christina's mother, Nancy Priddie had a role on the show and they needed a child to play her baby, so she used her own daughter. Christina ended up returning to the show at a later date without her mother.

LaToya was one of the kids who took dancing lessons from Melissa at the Body Connection. She was abused by her father and was taken in by Mickey and Maggie.

		Kelly Played by: Vanessa Nichols, 1986-1987 Kelly lived on the riverfront in low-income housing and was a clinic patient of Kimberly's. Vanessa got her role on the show after her brother Aaron was cast as young Steve. Father Stephen Nichols insisted that she have a role on the show if Aaron had one.

l (photo courtesy Ken)		Nina played by: Ariana Richards, 1987 Nina was a sick girl that Roman and Diana visited on Christmas in 1987. She of course assumed that they were married. This appearance was one of Ariana's first in showbiz. She went on to stardom in films such as Jurassic Park.

		baby Vanessa Played by: Jessica Sherrel, 1988 Baby Vanessa was the baby that Marcus and Vanessa Walker (a social worker) helped a poor mother deliver. She named the baby after Vanessa.

l		three girls in Cleaver Played by: unknown actresses, 1989 These are the three little girls that were killed in the racist bombing of a church in Cleaver. Marcus remembered watching them sing shortly before the explosion.

		candy striper Played by: Dominique Heffley, 1990 Dominique is the daughter of Wayne Heffley, who played Vern. She was given this small role during his time on the show

l		Josh, Nikki's friend Played by: Micah Bedrosian, January 1992 Josh, Nikki's friend from school, told him that Carly and Lawrence were his parents.

		injured boy Played by: Sky Rumph, 1992 (One Stormy Night) Lawrence brought the little boy into the Trauma Center. He had nearly drowned.
l
		little girl Played by: Doren Fein, 1993 Her appearance was on Smith Island in a scene with John & Kristen. There was a little boy and a girl on the island, and the brother was drowning. John and Kristen came to their rescue.

		Kevin Played by: unknown actor, February 23, 1995 Kevin was the son of a fallen officer. He was walking home one night, when John asked him how he was and how his mom was doing. He said everything was ok, but it was hard getting along with out his dad. John told him to make sure and call him if he needed anything. John and Kirsten knew him from the Horton Center too, he used to come and play there a lot. When Kevin walked away from John he was hit by a car. John ran to get him and he was dead in John's arms. Then the guardian angel Gabriel aka Gabe came and told John it was a test. John started yelling at Gabe that it wasn't fair his mother just lost her husband and now her son. He questioned God's judgement and then Kevin awoke in John's arms and he was ok. Gabe told him that God was helping and he needed John's help too. That was when John decided that just maybe he really could help Marlena.

		Lucy Played by: Doren Fein, 1995-96 The little orphan who lived in Aremid and took a liking to John, even visiting him in jail.

		Kathy Played by: unknown actress, January 1996 Kathy was in an orphanage in Aremid that Celeste went to visit, trying to cover up that she was Lexie's mother. The little actress playing her looked very much like Paige and Ryanne Kettner when they were younger.

		baby Hope Played by: unknown actress, February 21, 1996 She was born right after Hope died in Aremid. Bo came home finally and went straight back to work. He was doing a stake out and then ended up going to the place to find a young girl, Tracey, in labor. Her boyfriend, Donnie, had shot her, because he didn't want any witnesses left behind. She went into labor and Donnie couldn't take her with him. Bo helped her stay calm and stayed with her at the hospital until she got through surgery. The girl decided to name her Hope because that's what she was, her new hope on life. Bo never told her that that was his dead wife's name. Bo later decided it was time to go back and look for Hope.

l		Mothers of the Millennium Played by: Lindsay Gray (left), December 1999 unknown (middle), December 1999 unknown (right), December 1999 Eric was doing a photo shoot for Bella Magazine. The little girls modeled for him as furture working mothers. Each was dressed up as a working mother and was holding a baby. The girl on the far left was referred to as Rachel. The other girls were not IDed during the scene.

l		Rachel Played by: Gretchen Storms, November 1999 Gretchen played a patient of Brandon's at University Hospital. She is the younger sister of Kirsten Storms.

l		boy with the football--Scotty Played by: Scotty Hauser, December 22, 2000 He bumps into Marlena at the Salem Mall and apologizes to her. Same day, he tosses the football to Philip when Brady (wheelchair) and Belle show up at the mall.

		Boy Hospital Patient Played by: unknown actor, December 2000 --He was a patient of Brandon's. He was getting ready to leave the hospital without permission. He wanted out before the next treatment of Chemo. Brandon talked him into staying for hot chocolate and donuts and then he could leave. Jennifer was watching the whole scene and Brandon asked her if she would like to stay and have hot chocolate and donuts too. She said of course I would.

		European Orphans Played by: unknown actors and actresses, 2001 --These children came in and said "Hi Princess" to Greta. They were shown all together in a line and only on for a moment.

Abby Bemiller, 1990 --The Isabella flashbacks included young Marina during this time. Isabella was responsible for Marina's murder. As the story unfolded, we saw repeated flashbacks of the two of them as children and learned about the animosity between them.

	John and Kristen's baby/John Jr. Played by: unknown actor, summer 1996 --During the episodes where Marlena and John bonded with Brady and Belle at the DiMera mansion, Kristen had a fantasy about being a happy family with Brady and Belle and their new baby, who hadn't been born yet. During the scene, the little baby playing John Jr. poked at Brandon Billings (Brady), who tried to let Drake and Eileen know that he was poking him. They just tried to ignore him, but the baby was bothering Brandon.

	Toddler Will Played by: unknown actor, February 7, 1997 --Carrie had a nightmare that Sami had still not regained her memory 6 months after the accident. Austin had Will on his lap and was singing "Itsy Bitsy Spider" to him. In the 2/6/97 episode, Will was also played by another actor, most likely this same boy. He was only seen from the back in that episode and had a hooded towel on. Shawn and Taylor Carpenter were most likely unavailable.

	Older Will Played by: unknown actor, February 7, 1997 --In the second part of Carrie's nightmare, it had been ten years since the accident and Sami still didn't have her memory back. Austin, Will and Sami were a happy little family. Austin was giving his son baseball tips.

	Teenage Abby Played by: Christina Wagoner, November 27, 1997 --Jennifer had a horrible dream that Abby grew up and didn't know who she was. In the dream Abby told Jennifer that her mother didn't exist because she had left her when she was so young.

l	Abby Deveraux Played by: Allyson & Jillian Bull, January 1998 --In early 1998, Paige Kettner fell and developed a hematoma, which required her to have surgery. For 4 episodes the Kettners were unavailable, so the Bulls filled in. These were the episodes during Jennifer's "death" and funeral.

	Teenage Will Played by: Scotty Hauser, September or October 1998 --Scotty appeared in a photo of Will while Sami was in prison. He was blowing out his birthday candles. Jason Bushman, October 13, 1998 --Sami has a horrible vision of being locked up for 20 years getting letters all about Will growing up. When she finally gets out she's old and gray and goes to see Will at the Kiriakis mansion, but he doesn't recognize her. An old and gray Lucas shows up and is surprised to see her. When Sami tries to hug Will, he pushes her away and says his dad has told him all about her and he doesn't need her. Will calls Sami a murderer and says he doesn't want to see her ever again. unknown actor, June 1, 1999 --Lucas had a flashforward of Will hating him, asking him why he didn't save his mom from execution if he knew she was innocent.

	Young Brandon Played by: Nico Matinata, Oct. 29, 1999 --Brandon had a flashback during his boxing match with Austin of him and Nicole. Jonathan Hoag, Feb. 2, 2000 and July 12, 2000 --The Brandon flashbacks that Jonathan played were ones revolving around the Larry storyline.

The children were on the pier and Belle had lost her bear in the water. Shawn promised he'd help her get it.

l	Baby Brady Black Played by: unknown actor, 2001 --Marlena found this photo of Brady and his parents and gave it to Brady so he could remember his mother. They added it to the collection of photos on the piano in the penthouse.
l	Victor II Kiriakis and Philip Jr. Kiriakis Played by: Kurt Wetherill played Victor (in white), Cody Wetherill played Philip (in red and black), 10/8/01 --While Philip was in his coma, he had a dream about his future with Chloe. The boys played their twin sons.

It is also interesting to note that many other children have appeared during the University Hospital Christmas episodes each year. Traditionally, the children of the cast and crew are invited to play the children in the hospital pediatric ward, as well as candy stripers. These episodes are taped on a Saturday, so all can attend. Drake Hogestyn's children, Alexandra, Whitney, Rachel and Ben, have appeared for many years, starting as children in the ward and slowly moving up to candy stripers. In 1993, David Sohmer, Deidre Hall's son appeared during these episodes and her younger son Tully, appeared in 1995. Her children have not appeared since.  In 2000, Melissa Reeves' daughter, Emily, had a significant role during the hospital Christmas, as she was the little girl Belle placed in Brady's arms. Melissa's son Lawrence also appeared in that episode. Also in 2000, Tori Fath, Farah Fath's younger sister, played a candy striper. Samantha Barrows, who played Noelle in the 80s, reappeared as a candy striper in the mid-90s.
