Amanda and Jessica Gunnarson

This was the cover of SOU four months after Stephanie was born. Pictured here is Stephen Nichols {Patch}, Mary Beth Evans {Kayla} and Stephanie {Jessica on left, Amanda on right}.

This was another photo from SOU. Mary Beth, Stephen and Amanda/Jessica look like they are having fun. Stephen said that adding a baby to the show was an incredible thing. "When you have a baby to work with, there is so much life there in front of you...You can work off a child all day long."

This was another part of the comic. Stephen Nichols felt bad after he made Jessica cry.

Steve {Stephen Nichols} loved playing the harmonica for Stephanie. From Amanda's face, she looks like she enjoys it too.

Jessica and Amanda were definitely in a great mood during this photo shoot. They were just full of smiles.

Amanda and Jessica were always happy with Stephen Nichols. Stephen had lots of practice with little girls, although his daughter Vanessa was already a teenager when Stephanie was born. After Stephen left days, he and his wife had another daughter, Dylan. They also have a son named Aaron.

Mary Beth and Jessica--they are so cute together. Mary Beth had a new daughter at home too, Katie aka Katherine Elizabeth Schwartz.

Look at the love in Steve's eyes for his daughter {Jessica}.

Unfortunately, Stephanie {Jessica} was too young to really remember her father after he died.

Shane came to update Steve on the search for Bo and Hope (while on the Cruise of Deception). Stephanie {Jessica} helped her dad open the door.

Jessica was on the last page of SOW, they took this picture with her little "patch" and then called it "Little Sweetness." Which was Steve's nickname for Stephanie Kay.

Amanda is seen here with Stephen wearing her little patch. The easiest way to tell the twins apart is a little birthmark on the left side of Amanda's neck. Jessica doesn't have one there.

Aunty Adrienne was playing with Stephanie at the beach. This was a rare moment between Aunt and niece. Jessica seemed to enjoy going up and down. She even had her tongue out at one point.

Adrienne got tired and placed Stephanie on her lap. Jessica didn't seem to mind too much.

Jessica caught someone's attention off the set and she was smiling away. Judi and Mary Beth both called to her and she kept watching whatever or whomever, just smiling away. Then she finally looked back over.

As Adrienne and Kayla were getting ready to leave, J.J. walked up. She overheard Adrienne talking with Kayla about adopting a baby. J.J. asked Adrienne "Are you going to adopt my baby?" Adrienne said she would call her because nothing was final yet. Justin still had to agree to adopt the baby. Stephanie {Jessica} just watched J.J., not making a sound.

Here are Jessica (left) and Amanda (right) with their parents, Lori and Jim. They were all dressed up for their first Days anniversary party, Days' 25th, in 1990.

Stephen Nichols held Jessica and Richard Biggs held Amanda when the cast photos were taken at the party. Jessica was not too happy to be in the pictures. Amanda was busy playing with Arleen Sorkin's {Calliope} hair.

Richard Biggs {Marcus} held Amanda {left}, while Mary Beth Evans {Kayla} held Jessica {right} for a picture in the 1991 Days calendar.

Jo brought Stephanie down to the pier to see her mom dressed as Santa. Jo told her to look at her mommy, but Stephanie just looked the other way.

Kayla held Steph for a moment and thought of Steve. Jo said that seeing her dressed as Santa made it seem like Steve wasn't really gone. Stephanie wasn't too sure what was going on.

Kayla and Stephanie {Jessica} spent their first Christmas without Steve at Shane's house. Steve had already bought a present for Kayla and had it sent to her. It was a teapot that had been Emily and Gideon's.

Shane bought Stephanie {Jessica} a beautiful doll for Christmas. It was one that Kayla had spotted in the window and wanted for herself. Shane thought that giving it to Stephanie was the next best thing.

The doll was definitely more of a gift for Kayla than Stephanie {Jessica}.

After opening presents at Shane's, Kayla and Stephanie {Amanda} joined the Bradys for the family celebration there.

Marcus was there too. He was trying to support Kayla and Stephanie during their first Christmas without Steve.
