Amanda and Jessica Gunnarson

Kayla said goodbye to Shane. She was taking Stephanie and Andrew back to LA to see Kimberly.

Kayla thanked Shane for everything. Shane thanked her for bringing Andrew to visit for Christmas.

Stephanie was given a big happy 1st birthday party, with all of her family in attendance except for her father Steve, who had already passed away. L to R: Shane, Stephanie, Kayla, Shawn, Max and Caroline.

Kayla saw Jack walk in and said "Hey, Jack." She was excited to see Jack at the party, since she wasn't sure he was going to come to his goddaughter's party.

Stephanie looked as if she was going to blow the candle out by herself. She had a little help from her mom and Uncle Marcus.

Uncle Marcus gave Stephanie a doctor kit for her birthday. Kayla got a big kick out of this. Uncle Marcus said, "You are never too young for a doctor kit."

Kayla wasn't sure who gave Stephanie the little doll. Shane stood up and said he gave it to Stephanie. He must have forgotten the card, or he just wanted to get Kayla's attention. They were at the beginning of their love affair.

Kayla stopped Shane to talk to him. She thanked him for giving Stephanie a great birthday party.

Stephanie was very happy chewing on the party cup. She was really working on it, just biting away. Kayla was still a little sad about Steve not being at his daughter's 1st birthday party.

Shane wanted to talk to Kayla more. Kayla walked away from him because she was worried about what her family was going to say about her dating Shane so soon after Steve's passing. She also wondered because Shane was her ex-brother in law.

Kayla and Stephanie {Amanda} were part of a music montage in late 1990 or early 1991. The song was James Ingram's "There's no easy way."

Kayla and Stephanie {Amanda} looked out the window as Kayla thought about Shane, who she was feeling closer to.

Amanda didn't like the shades being in the way of her view. She got a determined look on her face as she worked to push them out of the way. She was very happy as she held them back.

When Kayla and Stephanie moved into Shane's {Charles Shaughnessy} house, they became close. Shane had a special place in his heart for the little girl. He was dancing with Stephanie one night because she couldn't go to sleep.

Kayla came downstairs and caught Shane and Stephanie together, dancing to music. Kayla knew he was busy spoiling her.

Shane was the one who realized that Stephanie {Amanda} was ready to take her first steps. He put her down on the ground to dance with her and she stood up on her own. He knew that she had the look of a "determined little girl."

Kayla used the video camera to capture the moment on film. She struggled to use the camera, saying Steve was always the one who used it. This scene was not only special for Stephanie, but for Amanda as well. Obviously they wanted one of the girls to walk for this key scene. However, Amanda wasn't walking at the time. They were just going to pretend and work around it with various camera angles. Everyone knew that Amanda hadn't yet taken her first step, but she surprised everyone when the cameras rolled. Amanda really took her first step on camera and it was hard to keep from cheering. Everyone on the crew had huge smiles and Mary Beth was thrilled she walked for her.

Shawn pulled out an old trick: his spill cup. He had apparently used it with Roman, Kim, Kayla and Bo as well. As he "drank" his milk, it ran down the front of him and all the kids laughed.

Kayla and Bo laughed about Shawn using the 'ol spill cup again. Bo knew something was wrong with Bo and she asked him what was going on.

Jessica was following Mary Beth and Peter's conversation closely. She watched Peter as he spoke, then turned and watch Mary Beth as she spoke.

Jessica spotted something on the counter. Mary Beth picked up a piece of celery and gave it to her, but Jessica couldn't stop looking. There was probably something else she wanted on the counter.
