Andrew Shawn Donovan was born on May 15, 1986 to Shane Donovan and Kimberly Brady. At the time of his birth, it was believed that Victor Kiriakis was Andrew's father. It was over a year later that they realized he wasn't. Andrew was named after Shane's father, Andrew, and Kim's father, Shawn.

Andrew was kidnapped as a baby and given up for adoption by Emma Marshall. Paul and Barbara Stewart adopted him and named him Teddy Stewart. Kimberly got him back after Shane figured out that Teddy was their missing son Andrew. Andrew is Donovan and Brady by blood. Andrew has been played by many actors. Robert Eliot Canko was the first. Second was Brandon Amber, third was Justin Page, fourth was Sky Rumph, fifth was Bradley Michael Pierce, sixth was Brian Davila. Two others have played the role in the last two years in short guest appearences, but their names are unknown.
