Kyle Lowder and Kirsten Storms

This was Brady and Belle's first real interaction as teenagers. Belle took her brother's bat without his permission. Brady pretended to be upset.

Belle and Brady did the typical brother and sister name calling game.

Then Belle said she was going to get ice cream. She asked Brady, "Would you like some? In a bowl or in your face?" Brady: "In a bowl, thanks."

Brady and Belle talked while they ate their ice cream. They talked about life in general and family. They were still name calling a little bit too.

Brady picked up Belle and was holding her in his arms, saying he was going to throw her over the ledge when John and Marlena walked in and saw him. They thought he was going to hurt Belle. John in a very stern voice told Brady to put Belle down. Both Brady and Belle were surprised at how their parents reacted.

Belle was a little confused by the reaction. But, Brady knew right away what they were thinking. He put Belle down and walked out of the penthouse.

Marlena told John that she wanted Brady arrested for trying to kill their daughter. Belle was totally confused now. She wasn't sure what to think.

It then hit Belle that her mother actually believed that Brady was going to hurt her. Belle stuck up for Brady and told Marlena "He is my brother, he would never hurt me. I have to go find him."

Belle found Brady sitting in the park (or the Wesley's backyard). Brady was hurt by what his parents, especially Marlena, thought of him. Still, he wouldn't say anything bad about Marlena to Belle.

Belle told Brady a story from her childhood. She said, "I used to ask Dad why he named me Isabella. He told me about your mom and showed me a picture and said he named me Isabella so he could say my name and think of your mom."

Brady was really serious for a moment, then told Belle "I am not going to get into something this intense with a munchkin." Belle of course said she wasn't a munchkin and because girls mature faster than boys, she and Brady were about the same age.

The next morning before school Belle went out on the terrace to talk to Brady. He told her to stay away because he wouldn't want the parent patrol to think he was hurting her. Belle said, "Don't be crazy."

Brady told Belle, "Face it, your mother hates me." Belle felt bad for Brady. She tried to stick up for her mom, but Brady wouldn't talk to Belle about her mom. He didn't want to come between them.

Belle said, "But, Brady we are a family, right?" Brady never really answered her. From the look on his face he knew he was never going to be a real part of Marlena's family. At least that was how he felt about it. Belle had another picture in her head.

The Black family was a part of the year 2000 photo shoot for the 35th anniversary of Days of our Lives. Clockwise: Brady {Kyle Lowder}, Belle {Kirsten Storms}, John {Drake Hogestyn} and Marlena {Deidre Hall}. {Photo courtsey of Jason47 Photographed by: Jeff Katz}

Kyle and Kirsten took a photo together too. Belle really loves her brother and tries to understand him even when everyone else hates him. Brady also loves his sister and wants only the best for her. {Photo courtesy of Sony DOT.com Photographed by: Jeff Katz}

In 2000 and 2001, Days rewrote the history of Marlena and Brady. Instead of being the loving son with a great stepmother/stepson relationship, we learned that Brady hated Marlena for a reason that was never totally explained. This tension was seen clearly in a family photo, where Brady didn't even consider himself part of the family. {Photo courtesy Bev}

By early 2002, Marlena and Brady had finally reconciled. They began to share special moments together. This one between Marlena and her two children got a little silly. {Photos courtesy Bev, 2/26/02}
