Sam and Max took over the role of Isaac Theo Carver in April 2001. They replaced Alyssa and Lauren Libby, who were recast because they were looking more like girls. The character was not aged with this recast. They left the role in August 2001.

The Christys appeared on General Hospital in January 2001 when Sonny {Maurice Bernard} dreamed about life in heaven with his dead wife, Lily {Lily Melgar} and his two sons who died before they were born. Sam {right} and Max {left} played Sonny's baby that Carly miscarried. This was Sonny's first look at his family in heaven.

In the first shot, Max was shown with a pacifier in his mouth. The next shot showed Sam, holding a bottle. Lily couldn't find a comfortable way to hold Sam when she stood up with him. He seemed to kind of be hanging there with his bottle.

Back to the pacifier and Max {left}, then immediately back to Sam and the bottle {right}. It seems Max was being wild and making a lot of noise. His arms are flapping in the pic on the left, as he is very excited. Then he started tugging Lily's hair and wiggling all over. Most likely, the whole first scene had to be shot a second time because of this and Sam was used the next time. In final editing, the two versions of tape were merged to create the back and forth between the two babies.

The happy heavenly family. When Sonny arrived, Lily said they had been waiting for him.

Sam kept looking over at Maurice as he talked, then back at Lily. He was trying to figure out what was going on.

In the next scene, more interesting editing took place. Sonny was talking to Lily about laying in bed dreaming about the three of them. He said he did it often and he wanted to be with them because he loved them so much. We saw a far shot of Lily with the baby, who was chewing his bottle, then we saw her holding him two more times as they talked. However, most of the times we saw Lily, she didn't have the baby in her arms and she was filmed from the shoulders up. It's possible the scenes were initially shot with Max or Sam in her arms, but they were too noisy or wiggly, so the actors couldn't continue the scene. It's also possible that Max and Sam had worked their allotted time due to child labor laws and couldn't be onscreen anymore.

The last shot of Lily and the baby. Sonny told Lily that he feared that if he went back to Earth, he wouldn't be able to be with them when they needed him. Lily told him the three of them would always be with him and they would wait for him to come back to them.
