Collin was present for the
going away party of Eileen Davidson and her 5 characters. {L
to R:} Kevin Spirtas {Craig}, Roark Critchlow {Mike}, Deidre
Hall {Marlena}, Lisa Williams {Lisa and Eileen's double},
Eileen, Drake Hogestyn {John}, Christie Clark {Carrie}, Josh
Taylor {Roman}, Collin and Krista Allen {Billie}.
Collin was on the cover SOM
featuring the men of Salem. It was titled "Salem Stunners."
This marks Collin's first soap magazine cover.
This is a pic from the cover.
Collin was messing around with on screen dad Peter Reckell.
Three of the female co-stars took time to comment about the
men of Salem. Here's what they said about Collin: "He must
have wonderful parents," says Patrika Darbo {Nancy Wesley}.
"He's so well-mannered, professional and mature for his
age."
"I can't get enough of him,"
says Renee Jones {Lexie Carver}. "He hasn't gotten too old
to let me hug him. He doesn't have the teenager's 'get away
from me' reaction. Whenever we see each other, his arms go
out to me. He's got the greatest jokes, too. And he really
adores his mom. One great young man."
"Wouldn't you love to have a son like him?" says Suzanne
Rogers {Maggie Horton}. "He's a darling, nice young man."
Bo showed Shawn-D the ring he
was going to give Hope. Shawn-D asked, "Are you going to pop
the big question tonight?" Bo said "yeah, maybe." Shawn-D
was so excited. Too bad Stefano changed Hope into Gina
before Bo could pop the question.
Shawn-D then asked Bo if he
could call Grandpa Doug and Julie. Bo asked, "Don't you want
to wait until she answers the question?" Shawn-D said "No,
she will say yes."
Shawn-D and Bo were walking
through Salem Place when they ran into Ricky one of
Shawn-D's friends. Ricky went to Radcliff, a boarding school
in the mountains.
Shawn-D introduced Ricky {Sky
Rumph, ex-Andrew} to his dad. Bo was happy to meet one of
his son's friends.
Shawn-D and Ricky started
talking about school and how Ricky missed his friends at
Salem High, but he really liked going to Radcliff.
Shawn-D talked to his dad
after Ricky left and told his dad that he wanted to go to
Radcliff. He thought it would be a great school for him. Bo
wasn't to gung ho about sending his son away to boarding
school. This was Days' way of hinting that Shawn-D might be
leaving the show, along with the actor that plays the role.
Shawn-D told his dad he really
wanted to go there. Bo said it was better to stay at Salem
High. Bo told his son that they wanted him close to home.
When Gina took over Hope, "Hope" later sent Shawn-D to the
boarding school.

Collin doesn't sign his name
like a teenager. He has a very sophisticated autograph. The
little face is one of the many cartoon characters he draws,
thanks to some drawing lessons from Austin Peck.
Shawn-D was getting ready for
school when his mom walked in. Hope told Shawn-D that she
called West Port, the boarding school he wanted to go to,
and they had a opening just for him. The writers forgot to
look up the name of the school they had used before. When
Shawn-D first asked his father about going to boarding
school the school was called Radcliff not West Port.
Collin made some great
surprise faces as Hope told Shawn-D the news about boarding
school.
Shawn-D gave his mom a big hug
for the great news. Even though Bo had told Shawn-D no, Hope
went ahead and sent their son away because Bo was in Europe.
Hope was also actually Gina, who felt no desire to keep
Shawn Douglas around.
Hope told Shawn-D that he
would be at school Monday morning. Shawn-D said "That's
great, I will get there before baseball try outs I think."
Shawn-D left Salem without
even saying goodbye. It was DAYS' choice to recast the
character with a more mature teenage Shawn-Douglas. Collin
played the role for almost 4 years and had become a teen
himself. This episode marked Collin's 155th appearance as
Shawn-Douglas Brady.
