Vivian decided that the only
way to keep "her son" from finding out that Carly and
Lawrence were his parents, was to take him away from them.
She took him and they hid out in the lighthouse just outside
of Salem for a few weeks.
Vivian decided to leave Salem
with Nikki right before Christmas. Here they are in the
limousine, heading for the airport. Vivian said to Nikki,
"Forget we were ever in Salem."
What Vivian didn't know was
that Bo had paid off the chauffeur and was driving the limo.
Instead of taking them to the airport, he took them right
back to the Alamain mansion, where Nikki shared a warm
reunion with his parents.
Nicholas got to spend his
first Christmas in Salem with his mother and father,
although he still didn't know they were his parents.
Nicholas was always dressed
like a rich kid. You can't exactly picture this child
playing in a sandbox or playing basketball in the street.
Even at 10 years old, you
could tell Erik was going to be a heartthrob.
Erik posed with co-star Scott
Groff {Shawn Douglas} for an SOU winter photo shoot in 1992.
Erik then introduced his mom, Susan.
Kim counseled Nikki while he
was at the Alamain mansion. He was very confused about what
was going on with Carly and Lawrence.
Nikki told Kim he was very
bored and had nothing to do. He said he missed going to
school and missed their classroom pet, Giggles.
Carly and Lawrence knew that
they were Nikki's parents, but thought he was too fragile to
learn the truth. They kept him in the Alamain house away
from the outside world, for fear he'd discover the truth. He
continued to ask questions about his real parents, since
he'd been told his mother had been a maid.
Carly and Lawrence tried to
keep Nikki busy with things like Scrabble, but he just
wanted to get out to see his friends.
They finally gave in. Nikki
ran into his friend, Josh {Micah Bedrosian}, at Salem Place,
who asked him if he was out with his parents. Nikki
introduced Josh to Lawrence and Carly, but told Josh,
"They're not my parents."
Crystal and Erik got along
well off-screen too. Here they are at the Sportsman's Lodge,
Memorial Day weekend 1993.
Here's Eric and co-star Scott
Groff {Shawn Douglas} hanging out at the 1993 Days fan club
luncheon.
This is one of the pics that
Erik autographed and handed out at personal appearances.
In a 1993 interview, Erik said
he enjoys hanging out with his friends, playing Nintendo,
roller blading, and playing soccer. His dad was his team's
coach. He said his favorite movies were Three Ninjas
and Batman Returns. Erik attributed his increased
school performance to his work on Days because memorizing
scripts helped him remember more for tests and do better in
school.
Nicholas was so happy when he
found out his father Lawrence. When Nicholas was old enough
to understand, his "Aunt" Vivian, who had raised him since
his birth, told him that his mother and father were dead.
