The Fishers took over the role
of John Brady in July 2000. They were cast in the role
because they were so tiny. Both boys were under 6 pounds,
making them more believable as a baby with FAS. The first
time we saw them Lexie and Hope were having a mom and baby
day out. Both John {Dillon} and Isaac {Lauren/Alyssa} were
sleeping. John was wrapped up very tightly.

Hope sat and rocked JT
{Dillon}, trying to calm him. He was very unconsolable. This
was part of the storyline, but during most of the Fisher's
time as JT, they were fussy onscreen. Usually the fussing is
just dubbed in, but in this case the young actors were
really fussing. Since they were supposed to be playing a
sick infant, it fit in well. If they had been playing a
healthy infant they might have been recast.

John came over. Hope answered
the door and John offered to help. He said, "I can hear him
all the way in the driveway. What can I do?" {Dillon as
Johnny}

|
John took little John {Dillon}
into his arms. He told him "It's ok little guy." Then he
bounced him and said "Alright." Hope was in tears since she
didn't have a clue about how to help little John. There was
really no way to console him. {An infant with FAS is very
unconsoable for the most part. They have lots of different
problems. It can be their stomach one day and something else
the next day.}

Hope watched as John tried to
give the baby his bottle and bounced him and talked to him.
Nothing really worked. John was doing his best. {Dillon as
Johnny}
|
|
|
|
John kept trying to give the
baby {Dillon} his bottle. He wanted no part of it, but then
finally he stopped fussing and took it. Then it was time for
Hope to leave for the baby's doctors appointment.

|
|
John offered to drive Hope.
She said it was ok, she was meeting Lexie. Lexie was going
to sit in on the appointment with her. John asked where Bo
was, and Hope said he was working. She made excuses for Bo
but John was disappointed that Bo wasn't taking care of
"his" son {Dillon}. John told little John "Don't you worry I
am here to protect you." Hope thought it was a little weird
but, she didn't think much about it since John was going to
be little John's godfather.

Hope walked into the doctor's
office with little John {Dillon}. The nursed offered to take
him so she could talk with the doctor. Hope said, "Are you
sure, it has been a tough morning." The nurse said, "I will
be fine with him. We are long time friends."

|
|
After the appointment Dr.
Maxwell gave Hope the worst news ever, that little John had
FAS. Hope held little John {Dillon} and said, "Mommy's
here." Great Grandma Alice came over to see Hope and little
John. Hope told Gran the news and then asked "How do I tell
Bo?"

Hope held little John {Dillon}
close. She was worried about her son and blamed herself for
what was happening to him.
|
|
|
Hope was sitting on the front
porch watching Little John {Brenden} sleep. It had just been
confirmed by the doctors that Little John was suffering from
Fetal Alcohol Syndrome {FAS}. She was waiting for Bo and
Shawn to come home so she could tell them the news.

|
|
After Hope told Bo and Shawn
the news they both left. Shawn was on his way to the pub and
Bo was on his way into work. Shawn wanted to hold little
John, but Hope said no, so he could sleep. Then after they
were gone she picked him up. Hope has lots of cute names for
little John {Brenden} . Here she picked him up and said "My
sweet heart, my little angel."

Hope left Little John
{Brenden} on the porch so she could go get his bottle since
he was waking up. She wanted to have it ready for him. She
had no idea what was going to happen next.

|
John came and took the baby
{Brenden} so he could get a DNA sample. He was going to put
the baby right back but Hope returned before John did and
she freaked out.

|
Bo found John and Little John
in the bushes. John said that Little John {Brenden} was
crying so he thought it was ok to take him for a walk. He
didn't mean to scare Hope and everyone. Bo believed him for
now.
|
|
Doug and Julie came by, saw
all the police cars and were worried. Bo and Hope reassured
them that everything was ok and they all went inside. Hope
told Doug and Julie about Little John and the FAS. They
tried to reaasure her that she was not reponsible for his
illness. Little John {Brenden} then smiled for the first
time.
