Spencer, Garrett and Mitchell Gray

On October 11, 2003, the Gray family appeared on TBS' "Movie and a Makeover." The movie being shown was Multiplicity, starring Michael Keaton. So, TBS hunted for a family to feature that might match the concept of the movie. Living in the L.A. area, the Grays were a perfect match. They recently added on to their house, creating a large new playroom for the boys and their big sister. So, the TBS team decorated the room. Segments about the Grays were interspersed between the movie. From left to right, in their Cozy Coupes: Mitchell, Spencer, and Garrett. Their dad is helping a bit with their steering.

The family colored together in their old family room, which was a bit cramped. Dad watched Mitchell while Mom watched Spencer.

As Vern and Deanne talked about their busy family (and need for a makeover), several clips of the boys were shown. They were quite involved in their sword battle.

Deanne talked about their excess amount of toys. They have three of everything, which can be overwhelming at times. Garrett {left} and Spencer {right} demonstrated the toys for the camera.

Mitchell especially enjoyed his sword.

Big sisters are great! Garrett got a swinging ride from Lindsey. Dad says, "Lindsey and the boys get along really well."

Lindsey is described by mom as "very theatrical." She "loves to have an audience.

Hanging out with mom, playing Legos. Deanne asked the boys about the new room. "Would you like a place to draw in your new playroom?" Garrett: "Yeah! I could be happy."

Spencer got sidetracked in the middle of his dancing. He headed over to pick out a toy. Then he went right back to his dancing, with Mitchell, Garrett and Lindsey in the background.

One of the features of the new family room was a giant wall of photos taken by mom. This was just one featured in the gallery.

The family was kept out of the room the entire time work was being done. They finally got a chance to check it all out, but had to enter with their eyes closed.

First reactions...

The boys each had a personalized brown suede chair in their new room. They tried them out immediately.

Garrett was especially excited about the art area. He told everyone, "I like to color."

All of the kids were thrilled with the dress up clothes and costumes. Spencer watched at Lindsey prepared for production.

Lindsey and Spencer found hats that they enjoyed. Spencer wore his for a while while he colored.
