The Grays are now 4 years old. As of May 2004, they are almost finished filming an HBO Pilot called BIG LOVE! It stars Bill Paxton as their father who is a Mormon polygamist and is married to 3 wives. He has 7 children from the 3 wives and there is lots of drama to be played out! Tom Hanks is producing it, so hopefully it will sell. Mom reports that "The crew and the cast are great and the boys have been having fun doing it!" Spencer and Garrett {seen here} share the role of Raymond on HBO's Big Love. Raymond is the son of Nicki and Bill Hendrickson. He is also a member of a larger family of polygamists (left). Chloe Sevigny and Bill Paxton play Raymond's parents and Keegan Holst is older brother Wayne. Spencer {seen here} and Garrett filmed the pilot in early 2004. The rest of the first season was filmed in the summer of 2005. The show has been renewed for a second season, which will be filmed in the summer of 2006. {pics courtesy mommyof6}

Spencer {seen here} and Garrett are considered "extras" in this role. They never have any lines, but they have had lots of scenes that allow them to do fun faces or cause lots of trouble. They were just four years old when they filmed the pilot. {pics courtesy mommyof6}

Ray and Wayne are constantly getting into trouble, fighting, or knocking things over. Nicki sometimes leaves the boys with "sister wife" Margene, who then ends up watching four children (including her two babies). The boys take advantage of the situation regularly. Ray went to the bathroom on the floor while Wayne ate spoonfuls of mayo straight out of the jar. Garrett loved shooting this scene. On the set, they rigged him up with a tube that was filled with chicken broth. It was pinned to his shirt, so he just had to turn a knob to turn it on. He had fun doing it, but doesn't even remember it anymore. When re-watching the scene, he said, "That wasn't me, it was Spencer!" {pics courtesy mommyof6}

The whole family was on hand for the opening of a new Henrickson Home Plus store. To the neighbors, Margene and Nicki are single moms who live next door to Bill and his wife (Barb). Every night the family eats together in their large backyard. The kids are an important part of it. Doug shared a holiday story with Zack at Christmas, 2004. He read, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas in an animated fashion. {12.24.04}

They get to Zack's favorite part of the story. Hope and Julie join them, and when Doug gets to the part about a noise on the rooftop, there really is a noise and a poof out of the fireplace...as we hear HO HO HO. {12.24.04}

Zack says, "Santa's here!" and Hope figures it's Grandpa Shawn again as Doug looks up the chimney. Santa's at the front door and comes in to hug Zack and asks if he's been a good little boy. {12.24.04}
