Spencer, Garrett and Mitchell Gray

Bo and Zack arrived at the Hortons. Alice said they had a new ornament for the tree. It was Chelsea's. {12.23.05}

Hope arrived at the Hortons. Zack yelled, "Mommy!" Hope asked Zack if he was having a good Christmas Eve. He told her, "We're decorating the tree." {12.23.05}

Hope asked about Shawn, who was still at the hospital, supporting Belle and Philip as Claire's condition deteriorated. Spencer kept climbing up Peter's shoulder as they talked, with his back to the camera the whole time. Peter kept letting him adjust himself. As always, this episode was part of a long day of taping. {12.23.05}

They began hanging ornaments on the tree. Zack's was first. He got help from both mom and dad in order to find a perfect spot. Then he took a good look at it on the tree. {12.23.05}

Mitchell finally got some screentime, just like his brothers. He appeared in the Christmas episode of Days in 2005. It's a tradition for family of cast and crew to appear in the hospital scenes as sick children. Mitchell was in his PJs, listening to Shawn read the story about the first Christmas. {12.23.05}

Zack was at the hospital party with his parents. For the first time, Spencer/Garrett (in Santa suit) shared a scene with Mitchell. {12.23.05}

Three Grays shared the screen for this scene. Big sister, Lindsey, played a wise man at the hospital reading. She's seen in the top right hand corner in maroon. {12.23.05}

Bo and Hope deliver Zack to his friend Marcus' house for a sleepover . Marcus' mother asks if Bo and Hope have a party to go to, but they tell her they're going to the hospital to be with Shawn's goddaughter. They explain she's had last rights and feel it's going to be a rough evening. {12.30.05}

They both give Zack a few warm hug goodbyes. We return to more hugs and I love yous before they leave. Outside, Bo tells Hope it's just a sleepover, but she says with what's happening to Claire, she can't help but feel what it would be like to lose one of their children. Bo hugs her, saying that won't happen. {12.30.05}

Hope calls to check on Zack. She's told Zack didn't like the fact that the cat had to sleep outside and not with the boys. Then Zack walks in while they're talking. Mrs. Morrison asks if Zack wants to talk to his mommy. Of course he does. {12.30.05}

Hope wishes him Happy New Year and Zack tells her that he loves her, Daddy, Shawn and Chelsea and then says "good bye mommy." Mrs. Morrison reports she'll tuck Zack in and then is going to bed herself. Later we see Zack going to the fridge for a late snack. {12.30.05}

Zack heard the cat meow while he was inside the house. It sounded like the cat was outside, so he headed out the door of the kitchen. {12.30.05; pics on left courtesy mommyof6}

Zack has wandered out to the street calling for the kitty. He hears it meow and steps off the curb in between two parked cars. {12.30.05; pic courtesy mommyof6}

Zack walked through two parked cars on the street. When he emerged, headlights were in his face. Chelsea was busy trying to use her cell phone, with her music blaring. She never even saw Zack, although he was looking right at her in his father's SUV. She feels a ka-thump and says "what the hell was that?" and "oh my God" as she squeals in shock. The show froze on Zack's face as the cliffhanger. {12.30.05}

Garrett (L), Spencer (M), and Mitchell (R) will soon start first grade. Big Love resumed filming in late August for season 2. The boys have signed on to have more fun with the cast and crew. This season Garrett will have a few lines. Spencer and Mitchell are working back up, too. {pic courtesy Deanne}
