There was a knock at the door. Johnny asked Marlena if it could be Santa. She said it could be. When the door opened and Johnny saw it was Don, he was very disappointed. Don said, "Hi Sport!" but Johnny was silent. His hopes had been dashed. He wasn't crazy about Don anyway. |

Marlena told Johnny she understood why he got the lead in the Christmas pageant. She said, "I know how good you are." He was quite a little actor, according to his "mom." | ![]() |

Johnny asked if Marlena would be at the pageant. Of course she would be. He made her promise. She held up her hand and did a scout's "pledge" not to miss the pageant. |
