Tonight, 13-year-old  film and television  actress Caitlin Wachs will read a letter written  by a 14-year-old girl who lost her father (a NYC firechief) in the September  11 tragedy at the 2002 National Memorial Day Concert in Washington, DC. The concert will air on PBS. Check local listings for time.

Caitlin has also just finished filming Inspector Gadget 2 in Australia. She stars as Penny alongside French Stewart. This fall, she will appear in the WB remake "Family Affair" as Sissy.

Caitlin Wachs is an entertainment veteran at the age of 13, having made her acting debut when she was a toddler. When she was three, Caitlin appeared in a Santana music video that was produced by her father. In the following years, she went on to appear in over 50 national commercials and became a leading model with assignments from Mattel, Disney, Gap Kids and Matrix/Biolage, in which she was seen alongside supermodel and actress Rebecca Romijn-Stamos. Caitlin's television career has included roles in Profiler, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The Pretender and Early Edition. In the world of film, she was cast as "the prettiest girl in town" opposite Frankie Muniz in the acclaimed My Dog Skip. Other film credits include the upcoming Disney film Inspector Gadget 2, and the highly anticipated Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood , which is directed by Callie Khouri and will be released this summer. Caitlin will appear as the youngest version of "Vivi Abbot Walker" portrayed later in the film by both Ashley Judd and Academy Award winner Ellen Burstyn. In the fall of 2002, she will play "Sissy" in the WB series Family Affair, starring alongside Tim Curry and Gary Cole.

May 2001

From time to time we like to give updates on former Days children who you probably haven't seen onscreen recently.

Chelsea Butler (Belle)

She was recently cast in a play starring Holly Hunter. Due to the location and time constraints, she had to turn it down. She continues to go out on auditions on a regular basis, both for commercials and episodic TV. This summer she'll spend time at her summer home in Montana. Chelsea is now old enough to go riding in Glacier Park.

Eric and Brandon Billings (Brady)

They are finishing up third grade and having lots of fun with scouts and soccer. While they enjoy time away from showbiz, there's a possiblity they'll get back in somewhere down the road.

Ashlyn and Kayley Messick (Belle)

The girls were recently seen in a small extra role in the movie Tom Cats.

April 2001

From Michlene Ann...
The role of Isaac Carver has been recast with boy twins, Sam & Max Christy. The role was previously played by girls Alyssa and Lauren Libby. The boys are about 6 weeks older than the Libbys, so Isaac has been slightly aged, but fans won't most likely notice a difference in size, because they are about the same size as the Libbys. Their first tape date was Monday, April 9. That will air near the end of April. Although leaving Days, Alyssa and Lauren have just filmed a national commercial for G.E. In it, they are sitting side by side. Look for it to air soon.

The video of "Johnny Tsunami" w/Kirsten Storms hit Blockbuster (and hopefully, other video stores) shelves on March 20, 2001.

January 2001

Megan Corletto, who was previously seen as "Little Girl" in the Garden of Eden storyline, has been cast in a contract role on Days. Reliable sources tell us she will play Abby, who is being de-aged. Megan is 7 years old and has been seen on ER (February 2000, "Be Still my Heart"...pic at left), Charmed (as the young Piper in Episode 17: That 70's Episode on April 7, 1999), Chicago Hope ("White Rabbit" 11 Nov 99 as an unknown character) and the X-Files (as Amber Lynn LaPierre in episodes 7ABX10 Sein Und Zeit and 7ABX11 Closure--February 2000).

On January 22, TNT is airing the last 9 Pretender episodes, beginning at 11 am EST. Following the marathon, the new Pretender movie will air at 8 pm EST.

January 2001

The first Pretender movie, mentioned below, airs on TNT this month. Date is not yet known.

Thirteen Days, mentioned below, begins in theaters this month.

Air Bud: World Pup, starring Caitlin Wachs, is now on Video and DVD.

Ashlyn and Kayley Messick have a small role in the late summer/early fall release of Tomcats (Sony Pictures)

Chelsea Butler will appear in the movie Frailty, starring Matthew McCounaghey. She will be playing a little girl playing hopscotch when a man drives up in a car and asks her for directions. You next see her with him in the car eating an ice-cream cone and then we hear about her murder. In the story, Bill Paxton's character murders the man for murdering the little girl.

Zenon The Zequal, starring Kirsten Storms, premiers January 12, 2001 @ 7pm on the Disney Channel

October 2000

TNT will produce two original movies based on the drama, The Pretender, to be executive-produced by series creators Steven Long Mitchell and Craig Van Sickle; series lead Michael T. Weiss will return as the forlorn genius/do-gooder, Jarod. Look for the movies to premiere on the cable early next year. (From TV Guide)

Caitlin Wachs (Jeannie) will play Kathy O'Donnell, the daughter of Kevin Costner's character in "Thirteen Days", coming out in the next year. She also has a role in "The Next Best Thing." She's featured in a few scenes in the middle of the movie.

Martha Nix Wade (Janice) will appear at the annual Walton's reunion/fan banquet on October 21st at the Lynchburg Hilton Hotel in Lynchburg, Virginia. The Walton's Mountain Museum in Schuyler, Va., invites Waltons fans to join in the celebration when cast members get together for the Walton's Mountain Museum 2000 Cast Reunion. The reunion will be held Saturday, Oct. 21 and Sunday, Oct. 22. The first day, festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. ET with press interviews inside the museum. At 11:30 a.m. ET, the Hamner family and Waltons cast will be introduced. An autograph session will follow from noon to 3:30 p.m. ET. On Sunday, Oct. 22, the reunion will kick off with music at 11 a.m. ET. An autograph session is scheduled from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET. Groups will perform inside the museum on Sunday. First up will be Ronnie Williams and The Carter Family Sound with a bluegrass, country sound. They will be followed by Bob Stone and The Virginia Gospel Group. There will be a break both days during the autograph sessions. Fan clubs are offering other activities. The Waltons International Fan Club has an event with the cast scheduled for Saturday evening that requires reservations.

September 2000

SOD is reporting that Paige and Ryanne Kettner will return to their role of Abby in early October when Melissa Reeves returns to the show.

August 2000

Chelsea Butler (Belle) recently taped a flashback scene as young Belle with Dyllan Christopher (Murphy Brown, Armageddon) as a young Shawn. Somehow the scene is supposed to help us understand the relationship Belle and Shawn had as children. The air date is September 14 or 15.

July 2000

Kirsten Storms will be away from Days temporarily this summer as she films the sequel to Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century for the Disney Channel. Due to a lot of pre-taping, her absence will barely be seen.

Victor Webster is filming a new movie called The Lot.

Wesley Eure will release another children's book this fall called Fish Out of Water.

Alison Sweeney married California Highway Patrolman Dave Sanov on July 8. She was also in the August LA Brides magazine.

Jensen Ackles has signed a deal with ABC that will keep him exclusively at that network as they work to develop a series or TV movie for him.
