Matthew, who was born in Roseburg, Oregon on August 1, 1975, played the role of Orpheus' son in early 1987. It was just the beginning of his career.

The little boy was trying to do a handstand. Marlena was encouraging him every step of the way, saying, "You're so close." He said, "I can do it."

In 1987, Matthew appeared as John Ritter's son, Bob Jr. in the film Real Men. He also appeared on Ritter's series, Hooperman.

In 1990, Matthew appeared on The Family Man, which also starred Gregory Harrison. Matthew played Brian Taylor, the son of fireman Jack Taylor.

The Family Man was created by the creators of Full House. The network was certain they had a hit on their hands, but the show never took off.

Matthew's costars were Gregory Harrison and Al Molinaro (of Happy Days fame), and as his siblings: Scott Weinger (who would later appear on Full House), Ashleigh Blair Sterling {Sami Brady on Days}, and John Buchanan.

In 1992, Matthew appeared in Beethoven as "Bully #3."

Also in 1992, Matthew appeared in Adventures in Spying.

Matthew appeared on the short-lived sitcom Shaky Ground with another former Days star, Bradley Pierce {Andrew Donovan}. Matthew played older brother Carter Moody and Bradley played little brother Dylan Moody. Their sister was played by then-unknown Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Shaky Ground only ran from December 13, 1992 to May 23, 1993 on FOX. Here's an ad for the show.
