In early 1999, Megan filmed a commercial for Intel's new Pentium III processor. She was one of five kids who appeared in the commercial. (To her left is Chelsea Butler, Belle on Days) The final tagline of the commercial, "Don't just get on the Internet, get into it." That's exactly what the kids did, becoming part of the web browser. |

In the first episode, Mulder convinces Skinner to let him in on the investigation of a little girl's mysterious disappearance. He goes to Sacramento, California to talk to the girl's parents. The girl, Amber Lynn LaPierre, disappeared from her bed one night, with no sign of a break-in. The parents are the main suspects in the investigation, but Mulder says they're innocent, though they lied about where they found the threatening note, the only evidence that was found. Mrs. LaPierre has a vision of Amber (above) and is asking to speak to Mulder. She tells the agents that it looked like Amber was saying "seventy-four." After speaking to the parents, Mulder tells Skinner and Scully that they're not likely to find Amber alive. He wants to go home, requests to be let off the case, and says he's going to take some time off. As they're driving back on the California Highway, Scully spots a sign that says "74." She pulls a map out of the glove compartment and finds that Highway 74 leads to "Santa's North Pole Village." When they get to the "North Pole Village," they find a room full of surveillance equipment, some tapes dating back to the '60s. Scully finds a surveillance tape with Amber LaPierre on it, dated two days before her disappearance (shown on the right). All of a sudden, the fat guy who runs the place locks the agents in the room, and takes off. Skinner runs after him, and the guy finally stops when Skinner fires a shot. Scully handcuffs the guy and reads him his rights. Then the agents look around and realize that they are standing in the middle of what looks like a graveyard; mounds of dirt that look like above-the-ground graves. Megan appeared on ER in February 2000, right between her 2 X Files appearances. She played Julia Edelstein, who was in a car accident with her family. She got out of the ambulance and immediately asked the nurse, "Where's mom?" |
|
|
|
This was an emotional role for Megan. Both of Julia's parents were severely injured and she was very worried about them. As she was being examined, she worried about them. She asked, "Can I go see my mom?" |
|
|
Julia watched as her brother, Robby, had his arm checked. Then Dr. Finch {Michael Michele} checked her knee. |
|
|
|
Dr. Finch told Nurse Haleh that they would work on Robby's wrist and fix up Julia's knee. Julia overheard and said, "My knee's OK. I just want my mom." Julia was busy looking out the door of the exam room, wondering where her mom was. |
|
|
As they worked on Robby's wrist, Julia slipped down off of the gurney and headed into the hall to look for her mom. |
|
This scene showed how
overwhelming this experience was for Julia. She wandered
through the hall looking for her mother. She tightly held on
to her coloring book. Julia was peeking into the
trauma room her mother was in when Dr. Finch found her. She
picked her up and took her back into the exam room. Julia
glanced back at her mother's bloody body on the table.
Julia and Robby's parents both
died in the accident. Dr. Kovac {Goran Visnijc} and Nurse
Hathaway {Julianna Marguiles} came in to tell the children.
They told the kids they did everything that they could, but
still, their injuries were too serious and they died.
Nurse Hathaway told them she
knew their parents would be relieved to know they were OK.
Julia had tears in her eyes. She looked at her brother to
see what his reaction was. Robby said he wanted to see
them. So, the doctor told them what to expect. He explained
that they would have tubes in their mouths and arms. Julia
had a glazed over look. She couldn't believe what was
happening. They all walked into the
trauma room to see Julia and Robby's mom. Julia took one look at her mom
and turned around and ran out. She ran right into Nurse
Haleh's arms. Haleh took her and walked away from the room
as Julia cried.
