The next morning Jennifer had some good news and some bad news for Jo. The good news was that Abby slept through the night. The bad news was that Jack hadn't come home during the night. She and Abby sat down so they could talk. {10/13/93}

Jenn told Jo she'd found Jack's St. Christopher medal pinned onto Abby's blanket. She asked if Jo knew what it meant. {10/13/93}

Jennifer held out the medal on the diaper pin and Abby {Michael} took it. She studied it for a bit to decide what to do with it. {10/13/93}

Of course Michael chose to put it straight in his mouth. Good thing it was closed. He spent lots of time chewing on it. It must have felt better in his mouth than his bottle. {10/13/93}

Jennifer knew things hadn't been right with Jack in recent months. She started putting the pieces together with Jo's help. She'd remembered Jack not telling her he'd been fired. She knew for some reason he thought he'd failed Abby and Jenn. Finally, she said, "Oh no." Abby {Michael} watched Jo closely. {10/13/93}

Jennifer went over to the desk and picked up the picture of Jack, Jenn and Abby that had been taken around the time Abby {Megan} had become ill. Finally she said, "He just left us." {10/13/93}

Jennifer and Abby visited Laura at Pine Haven a number of times. She was never able to respond to them.

Abby {Michael} and Jenn joined the Hortons at University Hospital for their Christmas celebration in 1993.

The Horton celebration was held at the Hospital because Tom was there after having surgery. The family took their ornaments and a tree to the hospital to celebrate what ended up being Tom's last Christmas with the family. They were very happy to spend this last Christmas together.
