Jack and Jennifer came home after an evening at the Penthouse Grille. They came home to find a crying Abby who had spiked another fever. They immediately took her to the hospital for tests. Before passing her off to the nurse, Jenn reassured Abby that she'd be OK. |

Jack spoke to Abby {Megan} for a long time while she laid in her hospital bed. He admitted that he had let her down by not being able to provide for her and not being there for her. He told her how much he loved her and her mother although he didn't always know how to show it. |

|
Abby listened intently as Jack spoke. He told her he'd do anything if he could trade places with her. He didn't want to see her sick. Little did he know that he had caused her illness. |
|
|
|
Jenn feared the worst with Abby's illness. Abby means the world to hear and she didn't want to see her daughter suffer. |
|
|
|
It was Abby's illness that brought Jack and Jenn closer together, yet it was also the thing that drove them apart. |
|
While Abby was in the hospital, she often was visited by mom, dad, and other family members. Each time, Abby gave the same looks to whomever she was talking to. |
|
|
|
Days taped footage of Megan in her hospital crib, which was inserted into scenes anytime someone came to visit Abby. That allowed them to have Abby on a lot without filming the Nelsons in the crib a number of times. |
