Ashlyn Lexandra and Kayley Yvonne Messick first appeared in the role of Belle in April 1998 and were last seen on June 2, 1998. They replaced Brianna and Brittany McConnell, essentially to play the penicillin-laced chocolate storyline. The girls were 4 1/2 when they landed the role, but already have an extensive list of TV and movie credits. The girls were born on 09/25/93 and are identical twins. *Ashlyn {L} and Kayley {R}, appeared in the 1994 TV movie A Time to Heal, as Baby Ethan. It was their first role. Ashlyn and Kayley are not on the cover with Nicolette Sheridan. Pictured is the other baby who played Ethan on his first birthday in the last scene of the movie.

Here's Kayley in a scene from A Time to Heal. In the movie, the mother, Jenny {Nicolette Sheridan} suffers a stroke during the baby's birth. The dad, played by Gary Cole, has to take care of the infant while she recovers. Here Kayley gives Gary a huge smile as he changes her diaper.

Kayley looks perfectly content with her diaper being changed. Few babies find that to be a pleasant experience...They were not quite five months old when they filmed the movie and less than 7 months old when it aired on NBC.

Here's Ashlyn in the bath with Nicolette. In this scene, she had her son in the tub with her, but her husband didn't trust her to be alone with the baby.

He took the baby out of the tub and the baby started crying.

*Kayley {L} and Ashlyn {R} were on an episode of "Weird Science" as baby Chet in October 1994. They had just turned one.

Kayley and Ashlyn had an extra role in Father of the Bride Part II when they were about a year and a half old. Kayley was seen just after George (Steve Martin) and Nina (Diane Keaton) found out that they, too, were expecting a baby. She was seen on the street as George and Nina were driving by, letting the news sink in. The "jogging mom" was played by Sandra Silvestri.

Kayley and Ashlyn appeared in Liz: The Story of Elizabeth Taylor in May 1995 as Maria, Liz's adopted daughter. They filmed their scenes in March 1995 when they were 18 months old. Liz was played by Sherilyn Fenn.

*Liz had already had a few kids by c-section and was unable to have any more.

They got Maria {Kayley} from a German orphanage. Here, she is being seen by a house doctor who examined her leg. Kayley was a bit squirmy and wanted to get the attention of someone offscreen.

As Kayley played with the doll Sherilyn put in her lap, the doctor says that "she may never walk," but Liz says she loves the baby and what else is her money good for.

Kayley was in the crib, looking around and checking things out when Liz came in to say goodnight to her and tell her that she loved her.

Kayley looked right up at Sherilyn when she reached the crib.

Maria {Kayley} played with her bear as Liz said, "I love you." Liz loved her daughter, even if she was disabled.
