*Ashlyn {L} and Kayley {R}, this is one of the girls' promotional pics, which they use when they go on interviews. They landed the role of Belle on March 19, 1998.

*Ashlyn {L} and Kayley {R} in another promotional pic. When they're on the set, the girls alternate with each scene, or with each episode they work. However, sometimes one of the girls will get to work and the other one gets upset that she doesn't get her turn. The solution: they both get dressed up in their warbrobe and then one of them works. If there is a certain thing Belle has to do, their mom will pick whichever child is more capable or willing to do it that day.

Before joining Days, Kayley (pictured here) and Ashlyn filmed a role in the movie Baby Geniuses. They filmed from January through March of 1997, working daily. They are in a number of scenes in the film.

Ashlyn (pictured here) and Kayley were one of many sets of twins working on the film. The kids would play ordinary children in the day care center and then play baby geniuses as well. At the day care, they underwent training to help the baby geniuses.

The Messicks had no character name. They were two of many extras in the movie. The set was filled with twins and triplets. They were shown in this scene where Whit was training the kids to do battle with Dr. Kinder and her goons. Ashlyn is the second little girl from the left.

Right next to Ashlyn is Brianna McConnell in a rare picture of two actresses that both played Belle Black. Brianna and her sister Brittany played Belle before the Messicks took over the role one year after this movie was filmed. They had a few scenes together in the movie.

Whit yelled "stop" when he was trying to train the kids because they were just jumping all around and not listening to him. Ashlyn was really getting into it.

They all sat down and Whit was thinking about what was going to happen next. Pictured here with Ashlyn is Brianna McConnell {center}.

*Here's Kayley at Lake Peris in CA in April 1997. Her mom called her secretary on her cell phone and Kayley said, "Let me talk!!" Kayley took over and looked like a true California babe.

*Kayley {L} and Ashlyn {R} on their fourth birthday. Kayley is the more rambunctious twin, while Ashlyn is a little on the quiet side. Ashlyn can be talked into doing something, but Kayley is very stubborn when she's made up her mind to do something her way.
