Noel played baby Shawn-Douglas Brady
from the time of his birth on April 6, 1987, until the day Bo, Hope
and Shawn-Douglas left Salem to sail around the world, April 20,
1987.

Shawn-Douglas Brady
Shawn-Douglas Brady born April
6, 1987, to Bo and Hope Brady. Noel Bennett Castle was born
on February 14, 1987.
"How could something so small
be so perfect?" Bo asks Hope.
Hope to Bo: "He is so
beautiful isn't he Bo?" Bo to Hope: "He's a miracle that's
what he is. You are too, you know."
Noel was not happy, he didn't
like being in the middle of the kissing scenes. What a cute
little face.
This picture is our
favorite--Noel started to get fussy and Peter Reckell stuck
his finger in his mouth, which kept Noel very content.
Shawn Douglas may have only
been a couple days old, but check out those shoes. It looks
like he's ready for action on the basketball court.
Unfortunately, they fell off before the scene was over.
Bo was very worried about Hope
carrying Shawn Douglas. He asked if he was too heavy. She
said he was "as light as a feather."
Bo and Hope were happy when
they brought Shawn-Douglas home. They were so proud to have
the first Brady/Horton grandchild.
Shawn Douglas was immediately
content in his new surroundings. Hope figured it was because
he sensed that he was home.
After Hope prepared to put
Shawn Douglas down to rest, Bo brought out his present for
the new Brady grandchild. It was a toddler-size motorcycle.
Hope told Bo it just reminded her that he was far from
normal.
Kim, Kayla and Roman came over
to meet their new nephew. Kim and Kayla said he was
"adorable," while Roman said he was a "good looking boy."

Bo and Hope called and asked
Doug and Shawn to meet them at the fish market. They had
finally chosen a name for their son.
Hope introduced "Shawn Douglas
Brady." The two granddads were so proud.
Hope told Shawn Douglas he was
a "little mother's dream." Noel was just about to fuss. His
hand kept getting hidden in his sleeve and he didn't like
it.
Shawn Douglas was the first
(and only) baby to unite the Hortons and Bradys. He is the
only child in Salem who is a member of both
families.
Bo said that Hope didn't like
Arnold or Rambo for the baby. Hope said Bo didn't like Tom
Cruise or Mel Gibson as names. They picked Douglas for the
middle name since there were already two Dougs (one was
Dougie), but only one Shawn...until now.
Shawn said the thing he was
most proud of was his last name. He was "a Brady through and
through." Doug said that he looked exactly like Hope did at
that age.
Shawn and Doug began to boast
about which parts Shawn Douglas had from each family. Shawn
said he had the Brady chin, while Doug said he had Williams
eyes. Hope said he had the best parts of both families.
Caroline {Peggy McCay} enjoyed
some time with her grandson when Bo and Hope brought him
over to babysit.
Hope hated to leave her son,
although she knew he was in good hands. Hope had no idea
that Bo had a surprise for her. He was about to take her to
the boat for the first time.
Victor {John Aniston} came to
the Brady's while Bo and Hope were gone, knowing it would be
his only chance to see his grandson. This was the first time
he had seen Shawn Douglas.
When Bo and Hope returned, Bo
had a few words with Victor, then sent him away. He held
Shawn Douglas and watched Victor leave.
Shawn Douglas, Bo and Hope on
their last morning in Salem. Bo was checking off all the
items they had packed. After each item he checked off, he
said "Diapers, check." After saying it 3-4 times, Hope
finally told him, "No more diapers."

permanent home.
There was a "Bon Voyage" party
at Shenanigan's for Bo, Hope and Shawn Douglas before they
left Salem. As they walked in, "Tonight, I Celebrate my
Love" was playing. Bo and Hope smiled and he asked, "Who
picked this music?" Then they kissed.
Alice, the proud
great-grandmother, told Hope how adorable Shawn Douglas
looked. Hope said, "Of course, because he's wearing the
sweater you knitted for him." Tom immediately noted, "And if
my eyes don't deceive me, he's already outgrown it."
Shawn then reminded Tom that
he was a Brady and that they came from "awfully good stock."
Tom reminded Shawn that he was a Horton too, saying "We
Hortons are a strong breed too." Look at the pride in all of
their eyes. Shawn Douglas was the first child to permanently
bond the Hortons and the Bradys.
Bo and Hope made a short
goodbye speech to their family and friends. They thanked
everyone for the party, then asked them not to come to the
boat because they couldn't handle another round of goodbyes.
One of Bo's last lines to
their family and friends was, "You haven't seen the last of
us." Of course he was right. The family would return to
Salem just over 3 years later.
This was the last scene where
we saw the family together before they left Salem. We only
saw Shawn Douglas in his basket after this, but never saw
Noel's face.
Bo and Hope make their final
trip to the boat with Shawn Douglas in his basket. They will
ride off into the sunset as a happy family.
Here's Noel at age 4.

Noel will start high school in
the fall of 2001. He hasn't done anything professionally
since Days of Our Lives, but enjoys working in community
theater. He's over 6 feet tall, and loves to play basketball
and baseball. He loves the mountains and the snow, as well
as the beach. He's into computers and computer games and has
a terrific sense of humor.
