Orpheus' Children played a key role in Marlena's storyline in 1987. In the late 70s, while on an ISA mission in Stockholm, Roman accidentally killed Rebecca, Orpheus' wife (this occurred off-screen). Orpheus vowed revenge against Roman for killing his love. In the mid 80s, Orpheus resurfaced, bent on revenge against Roman. He took his revenge by kidnapping Marlena, so Roman would know life without a wife as Orpheus did and so Orpheus' children could have a mother to replace Rebecca. In late 1986, Orpheus kidnapped Marlena after faking her death in an explosion at the Brady house and held her on a desert island. It was here that we met his children, who were never given names. The cast list just listed them as "boy" and "girl" even though they were seen for a couple of weeks. Since they had been so young when their mother had died, Marlena was the only mother they knew, so they called her Mommy. Marlena played along, considering the children her own, giving them all the love she desperately wanted to give Eric and Sami.
