Paul played Shawn-Douglas for about three months, just after Bo and Hope returned to Salem in 1990. His mom's schedule conflicted with the DAYS schedule and Paul had to quit.

 Shawn Douglas Brady

This was Paul's first scene on Days on April 27, 1990. Hope {Kristian Alfonso} had reappeared in Europe and Julie {Susan Seaforth Hayes} came to see her. She asked about the baby and Hope replied, "He's not a baby anymore." At that point, he ran in the room, taking a break from his coloring to meet Julie.

Here Shawn Douglas met Julie for the first time. Hope just introduced her as "Julie," since she's both his grandma and his aunt.

Shawn Douglas came running out to greet his father when he arrived. Hope watched their reunion, heartbroken that her son had to be away from his father because of their problems.

Bo and his son Shawn-Douglas Brady. Paul loved working with Peter Reckell. This was their first scene together.

Kristian and Peter seem to enjoy their on-screen time with Paul. They make a great family!

Before Bo left, he told his "sailor man" to take good care of his mom while he was gone. In his coat he had something to help Shawn D do that.

The goodbye kiss. Not only did Bo kiss his son, but Shawn Douglas gave him a kiss in return.

Hope desperately hoped that they would be a family again.

After being away from his son for a while, Bo came to tell Shawn Douglas why he couldn't be with him as much as he used to. Shawn Douglas asked Bo to tell him a story, so Bo created a story about a mean warlock {Ernesto} who cast a spell on people.

Bo explained that the young sailor boy loved his mama and his papa, but they couldn't be a family until the warlock had been captured. Bo went on to tell Shawn Douglas that the sailor boy's papa had to pretend to be under the spell in order to capture the warlock.

Shawn Douglas listened intently as Bo told the story, somehow knowing that his dad was describing his family. It was a touching scene.

This was a scene in the park. Steve and Kayla took their daughter Stephanie for a walk in the park and ran into Bo and Hope, who had Shawn-Douglas in the park. This was the first meeting of the two families since Bo, Shawn-Douglas and Hope had returned to Salem. Pictured here, right to left: Steve {Stephen Nichols}, Shawn-Douglas {Paul}, Bo {Peter Reckell}, Kayla {Mary Beth Evans} and Hope {Kristian Alfonso}.

This was another scene in the park where Steve met Shawn-Douglas for the first time since he had left Salem with his mom and dad. Picture here are Steve {Stephen Nichols}, Shawn-Douglas {Paul} and Bo {Peter Reckell}.

Paul was always being carried around. Like most of the soap kids he was carried everywhere. It's not until about age 8 that soap kids walk all the time. Bo was also giving Shawn-Douglas a piggy back ride though the park. Paul and Peter look so cute together as on screen father and son.

While Bo and Hope were on the Cruise of Deception on the Loretta, Shawn Douglas stayed with Steve and Kayla. Steve went looking for Bo and Hope but didn't find them. Shawn Douglas greeted Steve upon his return asking if he had found his parents.

Steve assured Shawn Douglas that his parents would be back very soon.

Steve told Shawn Douglas he needed to stay with them and help Aunt Kayla take care of Stephanie. He agreed. Marcus was also there to give Kayla assistance.

Steve thought of something to cheer up Shawn Douglas--a carnival on the pier. His eyes lit up with excitement. He raced Marcus upstairs to get his shoes.

At the last minute, Steve was unable to go to the carnival, so Marcus and Kayla took the kids. Steve had one request of Shawn Douglas: "Win me a big hairy gorilla." Shawn Douglas said, "OK."

At the carnival, they ran into Carly, who challenged Marcus to a test of strength. Marcus used the mallet and hit "Pee Wee." Carly enlisted an assistant to help her: Shawn Douglas. The two of them hit the very top, "King Kong."

Shawn Douglas won a stuffed dog for his show of strength. Although it wasn't a "big, hairy gorilla," he knew Uncle Steve would be proud.
