Jacob and Joshua were cast to play one of the new babies born in Salem in June 2000. They played baby Isaac Theo Carver at his birth, but due to the "baby switch" storyline, they then played the role of baby John Thomas (JT) Brady. They left the show on May 1, 2002, when JT went to live with his biological father, Glen Reiber.

These are the only two Days
babies to ever grace the cover of a magazine before they
were born. SOD June 13, 2000 came out the week the babies
were born. The day the boys were cast, they participated in
this photo shoot, before ever taping an episode of Days.
Rather than have two sets of twins in the studio for the
photo shoot, they chose to just use the Rips twins for the
shoot. Joshua and Jacob posed as both the Carver and the
Brady baby. On the cover were Joe Mascolo {Stefano}, Renee
Jones {Lexie} holding Jacob, Peter Reckell {Bo} and Kristian
Alfonso {Hope} holding Joshua. {Photos
by Jonathan Exley} Joshua posed for a number of
additional photos as Bo and Hope's baby.

After the Carver baby {Joshua}
was born, he wasn't breathing. The doctor {Rolf} got him to
breathe and then handed him to Lexie and Abe and said, "You
have a fine heathly son." When Lexie held him {Joshua}
she said "Oh my Goodness." She was in shock to be finally
holding a baby. Abe was overwhelmed too. Joshua was playing peek-a-boo.
He was covered with the blanket and then he moved his arm
and he was uncovered with the help of Renee {Lexie} she
moved the blanket so she could see his little face.
The nurse came over and said
"I have to take baby Carver {Joshua} now." Lexie didn't want
to let him go. Dr. Reynolds {Rolf} talked her into letting
him go to the nursery for some tests, then he would be back.
He also needed to get his ID bracelet. The nurses got to the nursery
at the same time to ID the babies. One nurse had baby Brady
and the other had baby Carver {shown here}. They were
talking about the weird births. One mom and dad getting
married and the birth mom flatlining before giving birth,
then refusing to push. The nurse said "It was like he knew
he had a loving adoptive mom waiting to hold him. He wanted
out." When the nurse from the
morning shift came in for her rounds of the nursery she
found baby Brady in the Carver baby crib and the Carver baby
in the Brady baby crib. She got upset with the nurse on
duty. Until the nurse said she didn't touch the babies. "I
just came in a few minutes ago." The nurses IDed the babies
by their ID bracelets. But Rolf made the bracelets and they
changed names somehow when they were placed on the babies
(something only Stefano could make happen). So now the
babies were switched.
