Joshua and Jacob Rips

Bo, Hope and Shawn talked about JT leaving at dinner. He sat and babbled on his own. Shawn got frustrated with the situation and said to JT "Come on buddy, we're going to go play." He took him out of the highchair and headed upstairs. Jacob had a roll in his hand, but Jason took it away and set it on the highchair. Jacob didn't care at all. {4/26/02}

Shawn and JT built a tower of Duplo blocks. Just as they were putting on the last piece, JT {Jacob} swung his foot out and knocked down the tower. {4/26/02}

Bo said he didn't know which was more fun, building the towers or knocking them down. Shawn decided it was knocking them over. Hope said she thought they should have taken a picture of it because it was beautiful. {4/26/02}

Bo finished Hope's thought and said, "next time." They all stopped talking, realizing there wouldn't be a "next time." JT broke the silence because he wanted something. Jacob started pointing at the Legos and said, "Lego" and then "B...B." He was holding a little Duplo giraffe. {4/26/02}

Jacob was first pointing with one hand, but then with both. Peter wasn't sure what he wanted but he grabbed the bucket of blocks. Jacob watched him carefully to make sure he was going to get one. {4/26/02}

Hope decided it was time for JT to go to bed. Bo picked him up and told him to "say goodnight." Jacob didn't get a new block, but he didn't seem to mind. {4/26/02}

Bo said, "I love you, give me a kiss." Jacob leaned in for his kiss. After it, he put his hand up by his mouth. {4/26/02}

Bo passed JT to Shawn. Shawn said, "If you have any nightmares tonight, guess what...I'm going to be there for you, all right?" He continued, "Cause I'm always going to be there for you." JT replied, "Yeah." {4/26/02}

As Shawn talked, Jacob put his hand up by Jason's mouth to get a kiss. He liked it the first time, so he did it again a bit later. Jason smiled at him. {4/26/02}

Shawn asked for his kiss. JT was looking the other way, but he immediately turned to Shawn and gave him a kiss. After this one, he again put his hand up to his mouth. {4/26/02}

It was time to head upstairs. Shawn was ready to pass JT off to Hope. She looked at him and said, "It's time for bedtime my sweet little Angel Face." Jason turned Jacob around and then acted like he was being wiggly. Really, Jacob wasn't moving much at all. But, Kristian said, "Oh, you want to walk like a big guy?" Jason put him on the floor so the two of them could walk upstairs. Kristian was well into her pregnancy at this point and it was becoming more difficult for her to carry Jacob and Joshua. So, any time they could change a scene so she didn't need to carry him, they did. As they walked away, we didn't see them, but we could hear them. Hope said, "Say goodnight" and then she changed it to, "say bye bye." JT joined right in, saying, "bye" and then "bye bye." All three of the adults repeated what he said, so he kept saying it as they went upstairs. {4/26/02}

Hope sat in the nursery with JT, rocking him to sleep. It was her last night with him. Shawn came in with his blanket and pillow to spend the night with JT too. No words were necessary. {4/26/02}

Shawn kissed Hope and JT. Then Bo appeared. It was clear the whole family would spend the night in the nursery. {4/26/02}

Hope continued rocking JT. Jacob smiled a bit. He was very calm, not saying a word or moving at all, which was perfect for the scene. {4/26/02}

The episode ended with a long shot of the nursery. JT was surrounded by his family. Ironically, next week's show would end the same way, with a long shot of the nursery, but Hope sat alone in the chair, since JT had just gone with Barb and Glen. {4/26/02}
