After Bo realized Hope and Zack had been kidnapped, Bo headed to Iowa, where she was last scene. He went to talk to Glen about her departure. Glen had a surprise for him, JT. Glen brought him into the kitchen to see JT {Joshua}. {10/18/02}

Bo looked at JT and said, "Look at you...look how big you've gotten." Bo reached to hold JT. Joshua was holding stickers in his hand, but not really playing with them. Bo told JT how heavy he was. Glen said he was "all better" too. Bo said that was "good." {10/18/02}

Bo told JT {Joshua} that Hope was very happy he was healthy too. He promised JT that he would bring Hope and Zack back to visit as soon as he could. As Joshua and Peter hugged, Joshua took out his binky. He now felt secure enough on the set that he decided he didn't need it. {10/18/02}

Peter and Joshua seemed to enjoy playing together again. Joshua hid his head and then popped it up. Peter sent him flying into the air. {10/18/02}

Bo told JT {Joshua} that he had gotten something for him. It was a train. Everyone watched as he pulled it out of the bag. {10/18/02}

Bo told JT {Joshua} it was just like the train in his book. (Peter was adlibbing, actually referring to Joshua's own "Thomas Train" book, which he had seen him reading earlier in the day.) Bo asked JT if he'd like to play with the train for a little bit and he said, "Yeah." Bo put him into the playpen. While Bo and Glen continued to talk quietly about Hope and Zack's disappearance, JT could be heard playing with the train. Joshua was really enjoying it, talking throughout the scene. He said, "train" several times, as well as "see the train." Glen looked over his shoulder at JT a few times, checking on him. {10/18/02}

Bo was heading to talk to people at the airport about Hope's disappearance. He went by the playpen and said, "I'll see you later...you have fun." He patted JT on the head and headed out the door. This episode marked a rare "reappearance" for child actors on Days. Jacob and Joshua left the role of JT 5 months earlier, but were invited back for these small scenes, just to establish that JT was still an important person to Bo and Hope. Since the boys are no longer Days regulars, they provided their own wardrobe for this appearance, which is standard practice for all under-5 and extra roles. Joshua completed all of the scenes for this episode. It had been a long time since he was seen in the role of JT. Jacob had performed in most of their scenes at the beginning of 2002 because he was more comfortable on the set at that time. {10/18/02}

Jacob {right} and Joshua {left} enjoy trains, real ones and toys, too. They spent a family day at a local train park, playing on old trains. {Photos courtesy the Rips family.}

Climbing is a favorite thing for these two active boys. They each got their own diesel train engine to go with their Thomas the Tank Engine collection. {Photos courtesy the Rips family.}

Where are They Now?

January 2003: Jacob and Joshua continue to enjoy life as typical two year olds. Currently they have elected to be on hiatus from Hollywood (ok, their parents were the main decison makers here!), with the exception of being called back to Days. The cast and crew of Days will always be a special part of their lives! They love trains and are starting to collect many of the Thomas the Tank Engine train pieces.

There's nothing like big boy beds. Jacob {seen here} and Joshua were thrilled to see their new beds for the first time. The small crawl space underneath is a perfect place to play. {Photos copyrighted to Beth, courtesy the Rips family.}
