William Robert Reed-Roberts was born on November 16, 1995, to Lucas Roberts and Samantha Brady. Lucas did not find out that he was Will's father until September 1997. Sami claimed Austin Reed was the child's father. William was named after his Aunt Billie. His middle name is to honor the Roberts Family.

The character of William is played by twins Shawn and Taylor Carpenter. They played William from the age of 6 weeks to 6 1/2 years. Will was then slightly aged and played by Darian Weiss. Christopher Gerse took over the role in September 2003.
