In 2001, SOD had their annual awards, but instead of being televised, the voting took place online and awards were handed out on each soap set. Days won 8 awards (more than any other show) and decided to throw a large party. Many actors and actresses who weren't working that day came in just to celebrate. Winners were: Alison Sweeney (Outstanding Younger Lead Actress), Jason Cook (Outstanding Younger Lead Actor), John Aniston (Outstanding Supporting Actor), Arianne Zuker (Outstanding Villianess), Kirsten Storms (Outstanding Child Actor), Bo and Hope (Favorite Couple), The Baby Switch (Favorite Storyline) and Days of Our Lives (Favorite Show). {Photo by JPI}

Alison took part in a tribute to the victims and heroes lost in the events that took place in New York, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania, on September 11, 2001. In 2002, Days of Our Lives and Passions stars appeared on Weakest Link, playing for their favorite charities. Stars from Days included James Reynolds {Abe}, Jason Cook {Shawn}, Matt Cedeno {Brandon} and Alison Sweeney {Sami}. Ali and James battled in the final round and Ali took home the prize for a charity that benefits families of the California Highway Patrol. Her husband, Dave, is a CHP officer. {Photo courtesy NBC}

In the spring of 2002, Sami finally got her greatest wish granted. She was finally set to marry Austin, the man of her dreams. The two traveled to Vegas, but all of her scheming finally caught up with her. Sami was left at the altar and Austin left town, never wanting to see her again. {photo on right courtesy NBC}
