Christie has held the role of Carrie Brady longer than any other actress. She originally took over the role of Carrie Brady from Andrea Barber in 1986. She left in 1990 when she decided to finish high school like the rest of her classmates, rather than on the set. She returned to Days in 1992 and took the role back from Tracy Middendorf.

When Christie returned to DAYS she found Carrie involved in a very grown-up storyline. Carrie was just getting over being involved with a very much older man, Lawrence Alamain. She found Carrie living on her own, no longer living at home. To make matters even more complicated, the father that she thought was her father, Roman II was actually John Black and Roman I was actually alive and well. Her stepmom, Marlena, was also alive and well.

 

During her time away from Days, Christie filmed a role in the horror movie, Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice. She played Lacey Hellerstat. The film was released in 1992.

Carrie's first true love...Austin Reed. Christie started out acting with Patrick Muldoon as Austin Reed. Later the role was recast with Austin Peck.

Roman didn't like Austin. He knew he meant trouble for Carrie. However, at Christmas, Roman opened his home to Austin, so he and Carrie could celebrate together.

Austin was a boxer who was involved in gambling. Carrie didn't understand how much danger Austin was in. She stood by his side in the ring.

The night of the Titan Publishing grand opening was a night that changed Carrie's life. She was chosen as the "Face of the 90s" early in the evening, but was burned by acid before the night was over, in an attack meant for Austin. Right photo courtesy of Who's who in Salem.

Carrie, Alan and Jamie. Alan was a real psychopath. He was after Carrie, but when he couldn't have her, he went after her little sister Sami because she looked like Carrie. Alan raped Sami and was put away after Sami shot his off his manhood.
