Dick (born Richard W Billingsley on 6 Jan 1975 ) played Scott Banning from 1981-83. He was the last actor to play Scotty as a young boy. After leaving Days, he appeared on "Valerie", "The Love Boat", "Simon & Simon" and was in a movie of the week with Mark Harmon called "After the Promise," which was based on a true story. Additionally, he spent a great deal of time doing print work for major department stores as well as several dozen commercials. You can find more information on what Dick has done since he left Days on Beth's Where are they Now? Page.

Scotty and David went over to Roman's apartment to practice trick-or-treating a few days before Halloween. When Carrie came into the room he growled, "Hi Carrie." Then he took off his mask and said, "You don't have to be scared, it's just me!" It was Carrie's first Halloween, so Scotty explained the holiday to her and what trick-or-treating was all about. {Photos courtesy Ken}

Dick made his way onto Days after people continually told his mom that he should be in showbiz. After realizing her son's potential, Sally Billingsley sent his photo to an agent. Two days later, he had an interview at Columbia Studios, where he soon got the role of Phillip on The Young and The Restless. He was on Y&R from age three to age six. At that point, Columbia sent him directly to their other soap, Days of Our Lives.

Dick and his dad spent a lot of their free time playing baseball together. If they're not playing, they often turn on the TV to watch sports or play a sports video game. Richard, Dick's dad, coaches football and soccer at Beverly Hills High School.

Dick lives life as a very normal child. His parents make sure he is grounded. He enjoys spending time outside with his dog and his sister, Kelly. Gregg Marx, who played his father, David Banning, agreed that he was a very normal little boy. In an online chat in the late 90s, Gregg commented, "I loved working with the little boy who played my son, Dick Billingsley , because working with him kept reminding me of what acting really is all about. Because little kids are always just in the moment, and so are the best actors."

This is one talented little boy. Not only does he act, but he also plays the piano.

In addition to appearing on Days and Y&R, Dick has appeared in several commercials. He appeared in a TV movie as a mentally retarded boy when he was just 3 1/2. In 1980, he appeared as Archie Bunker's grandson, Joey in the "All in the Family" Thanksgiving reunion show.

Dick's family includes Mom (Sally), Dad (Richard) and Sister (Kelly).

David dropped off Scotty at Roman's so that he would play with Carrie. This was about the second time that Scotty saw Carrie, and he still didn't like the idea of having to play with a girl so he didn't pay much attention to her. {Photos courtesy Ken}

Carrie asked Scotty if he wants to play with her doll, "Dolly." Scott indignantly said, "Boys don't play with dolls!" This saddened Carrie. {Photos courtesy Ken}

Scotty felt bad about making Carrie sad, so he decided that it wouldn't hurt to look at Dolly. This cheered Carrie right up as she proudly handed the doll to him. {Photos courtesy Ken}

Scotty decided that the doll was very pretty, to Carrie's delight. Afterwards, Scotty asked Carrie if she wanted to check out his new baseball mitt. {Photos courtesy Ken}

Carrie eagerly said yes, but then asked Scotty, "What's baseball?" Since she'd lived on a yacht all of her life, there were many things that she didn't know. "YOU'RE KIDDING!" said Scotty. He couldn't believe that she didn't know what baseball is. Marlena then explained to Scotty that Carrie had grown up on a ship. {Photos courtesy Ken}

The subject soon turned to baseball teams, and Carrie suddenly remarked that she loved the Mets. She didn't know what they were, but Anna had once told her that they were Roman's favorite team, so she liked them too. Anna had told Carrie all sorts of details about Roman that Carrie never forgot, which caused her to love her father even before she met him. {Photos courtesy Ken}

Scotty was amazed that Carrie knew about the Mets and invited her to his apartment to look at his baseball cards. Scotty was especially proud of his Fernando Valenzuela. Carrie obviously didn't know who he was, but said "Whoa!" anyway. {Photos courtesy Ken}
