Jay was born in Springfield,
Missouri the eldest of three children. Jay's father,
Kenneth, is a mortgage broker; his mother, Janice, works for
Southwestern Bell Yellow Pages. While growing up, Jay knew
he wanted to be either an actor or a professional athlete.
He had the best of both worlds during high school when Jay
juggled sports and theatre with academics. "That was a
challenge in itself," Johnson explains. "I had to take small
roles in the high school productions because the plays
always fell during the Kickapoo Chiefs' football season."
After high school, Jay knew that acting would be in his
future.

Before joining Days, Jay
appeared in some ads for Skechers shoes.

Philip was laying on the
ground bleeding when his cell phone rang. It was his mother
wondering where he was, since he had missed Christmas Eve
dinner with the family.
|

|
|
Philip somehow made his way
home. He passed out in the foyer of the mansion. Kate found
her son bleeding on the floor. Victor knew exactly what
Philip had gotten himself into.

Philip was happy to be alive.
His father paid for a plastic surgeon to remove the marking
of the bookie from his forehead.

In SOU's February issue they
rated all the soaps with teens and who was doing the best
job. Days got an A- for their teens, while the lowest grade
was a C given to Passions and the highest was an A+ given to
As the World Turns. SOU commented on the actors and their
work in taking over the roles. The verdict was still out on
Jay and his role since he just took over the role from
Brandon Tyler.

When Philip came home his
shoes were very dirty, so his mom and dad asked where he had
been. Philip went over to the Wesley's house to ask Chole
for her chem notes. Chole refused, so Jason and Jan wanted
to do something mean to "Ghoul Girl" as they call her.
Philip wanted no part of it so he walked home.
|
|
Victor told his son that he
needed to focus on his work more and forget about his social
life. Philip tried to explain that chemistry was a hard
subject for him, but he would try harder.

Victor called Philip
downstairs when Nancy Wesley came over and told Victor that
Philip threw a headless chicken on her door step. Philip
said he wasn't able to say who did it, but he was
sorry.
|

|
|

|
When Nancy left, Victor called
Philip back down. Philip explained he didn't get the chicken
and he wanted no part in the joke. He thought it was mean
and cruel so he left and walked home, but he couldn't rat on
his friends to Mrs. Wesley.

|
Victor said "I remember doing
stupid things when I was young, but it was usually over a
pretty girl. Is this the case?" Philip laughed and said
"Chole? No way dad. She is so weird. I would never ask her
out."
