Kristina Osterhaut (Osterhout) was the first actress in the role of Hope. She began appearing as Hope in February 1974. She began working on the Days set when she was just 3 1/2 weeks old. Kristina was born 4 Dec 1973. She played the character for the next several months. Most sources list her last name as "Osterhaut," but a newspaper article from 1974 and the California database of births list "Osterhout."

Kristina's mother is Gigi Osterhout. Her grandmother, Lisa Piazza was an actor on Days in the early 70s, playing many small roles over the course of 6 years. She was Anne Peters and Nurse Perkins, in addition to other characters. When executive producer Wes Kenney heard about Kristina's birth from her grandmother, he was immediately interested in bringing the baby onto the show as Doug and Addie's daughter. {pic and info courtesy Jason47} |
