Michael joined Days in 1985 when the show decided to make Mike a hunk. He fit the bill perfectly. He stayed in the role until 1990 when he left to pursue other projects. You can find more information on Michael on Beth's Where are they Now? page.

Michael T. Weiss

Michael William Horton

In Michael's first episode as Mike, he started a trend we'd see for many years to come: shirtless Mike. When his beat up van died at the Salem city limits, he removed his shirt (a pink, Hawaiian sort of thing) and fixed his van with a single screwdriver.

Mike and Ivy dated a bit. He took care of her when she was pregnant with Charlie. Here they sing "Angels we have heard on high" as part of the Horton Christmas celebration in 1985.

Michael's first long-term love interest was played by Derya Ruggles. Mike and Robin heated things up at University Hospital, continuing their relationship outside the OR. Mike nearly converted to Judaism for Robin, but she knew his heart was never with the religion.

Mike dated Diana for a short while. They were not right for one another. Mike moved on with April and Diana found love that didn't work out with Roman Brady/John Black.

After Robin left town, Mike began dating April Ramirez. She was a brought an edge to his personality and they really smoked things up.

These are Cain's two favorite pics of Mike and April.

It was rumored that Michael and Lisa were dating off screen since they always showed up at awards show and other appearances together. They both stated that they were just close friends. When Michael left Days, he offered Lisa a role on the show Pretender. She took him up on the offer and did one show with him.

The Days stars of the 80s were a close bunch. Here's Michael, Melissa Reeves {Jennifer}, Mary Beth Evans {Kayla} and Arleen Sorkin {Calliope}.

In 1988, Michael appeared in the horror film, Howling IV: The Original Nightmare as Richard.

Michael in the Howling. We just had to share these two pictures. The second one is so funny, but what happened after that capture is unreal. If you really want to see what happens afterwards, then rent the movie or buy it online at Amazon (using above link).

Robin returned to town in 1989 with her son, Jeremy. This created a triangle between Robin, April and Mike. Although Mike discovered that Jeremy was his son, his love for Robin wasn't as strong as it had been and he chose April.

April had a heart of gold. She wanted to leave Mike so he could be with his son. Mike wouldn't allow it and Robin was just happy causing problems.

Mike didn't exactly know how to feel about having a son. He was just as confused as Jeremy {Jeremy Allen} must've been. Even though he knew Jeremy was his son, Mike didn't know him. It was hard for him to accept this new responsibility that had suddenly come out of the blue. {pics courtesy Ken}

Do you think Mike and April are trying to scare Robin away? It worked. She left a short time after her return to Salem.

Michael appeared on the cover of SOU with all the other men of Days. Clockwise from Michael, Matthew Ashford {Jack}, Wally Kurth {Justin}, Stephen Nichols {Steve} and Charles Shaugnessy {Shane}.

Michael won the Soap Opera Award for best comedic performance more than once during his 5 years on Days. He loved to joke around on the set and that humor was carried onscreen, as Mike became a jokester too.

Shortly after leaving Days, Michael appeared in the TV movie, Big One: The Great L.A. Earthquake with Ed Begley, Jr.

In 1990 and 91, Michael was a regular on the revival of the Dark Shadows TV series as Peter Bradford/Joe Haskell. He appeared in Dark Shadows episode #11

Michael appeared in the Oliver Stone movie, Freeway, starring Kiefer Sutherland.

Michael played a crack-addicted white trash character named Larry. In both of the Freeway movies Michael only gets about 20 minutes of airtime.

In 1995, Michael appeared in the film, Jeffrey. He played Steve, a gay man, whose partner was Jeffrey, played by Steven Weber {Wings}.

Did you know that Mike owns an electric car? It is a Toyota RAV4 EV. He truly cares about his air and the environment in general. He also says it is a great date magnet.

Since 1996, Michael has starred on the NBC drama, The Pretender as Jarod. Michael took on the role because of the diverse characters he would get to play as Jarod, who becomes a different person each week.
