Kevin Alexander
Adam Chandler Jr.
1992-97

Kevin played Junior during the custody battle between his parents.

"Junior" as he was known by his mom, never had much of a say in all of the nasty things going on with his parents. He did run away at one point, but spent lots of time at camp. During Kevin's time in the role of Junior, Tad was his main father figure. He was devastated when Tad was presumed dead, but thrilled when Tad returned to Pine Valley, having amnesia from his fall into the river a year earlier. Dixie and Tad married again in 1995. In 1996, Junior told Dixie he saw Tad kissing Liza. Eventually, Dixie divorced Tad and moved to Pigeon Hollow with Junior, which signalled the end of Kevin's time in the role. Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa look on as Kevin and the rest of the AMC cast celebrate their 7,000 show in 1997. Kevin left the show soon after this when Dixie and Junior headed back to Pigeon Hollow. Kevin made his return to showbiz in an episode of Ed in early 2001. He played "Potsie" (of Happy Days fame) in the episode: "Hook, Line and Sinker."

Philip Amelio
Scott Parker Chandler
1988-91

Philip's first major role was on Lucille Ball's last sitcom, "Life With Lucy," where he played Lucy's grandson, Kevin. {pic on left courtesy tvtome.com, pic on right courtesy The Lucille Ball File}

Unfortunately, the show was not a hit. It only ran from September to November 1986. But, it had been a major step in young Philip's career. Before booking the sitcom, he had only appeared in commercials. {pics courtesy tvparty.com}

At the early age of 4, Philip was cast for a Pepperidge Farm commercial. This would be the beginning of a long, brilliant acting career including nationally-aired commercial campaigns with Ford Motors, All Laundry Detergent, and Shake 'N Bake Bread Crumbs. Philip also was the very first spokesman for Jell-O pudding snacks when he was 9 years old. Philip also landed roles on TV movies including, "A Place to Call Home," (1987) a story that was shot on location in Australia starring Linda Lavin, about a woman who moves from Texas to Australia to re-establish her roots with her 11 children.

Philip originated the role of Scott. He played the boy during a ground breaking storyline for daytime. Scott's mother, Cindy (Ellen Wheeler), was one of the first soap characters to live with AIDS and have a family and romance onscreen.

Stuart Chandler and Cindy Parker were wed on May 26, 1988. Scott gave his mother away. He told Stuart he was afraid he wouldn't "give her away right. " Stuart told Scott that he wasn't "giving her away," but sharing her with Stuart. He told him, "And you can't not do it right. Because there is no wrong way to share someone." {Photo by Ann Limongello}

Philip had a number of very touching scenes dealing with her imminent death. Here Stuart tells Philip that he'd like to be his dad.

Scott was later adopted by Stuart, just months before Cindy died in February 1989.

After an impressive high school career, including baseball, winter track, and educational highlights. Phil went on to earn his masters in Education at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY, a bachelor's in English and Social Studies at the University at Albany, and finally became a teacher at Duanesburg High School in Delanson, NY . He was employed as an English and History teacher at there for the last two years. Philip also loved baseball and coaching. Throughout the years, he was the pitching coach for the Pine Plains Little League, head coach of the Pine Plains Junior League, and he was the modified baseball coach at Duanesburg High School. In addition, he helped coach and teach dozens of players in the Pine Plains School District in numerous clinics and summer leagues with his father, including coaching many of the players on the 2002 New York State Championship Baseball Team. On April 1, 2005, Philip passed away from an internal infection. He was 27 years old. {pic courtesy Duanesburg High School}

 Matthew Anton
Thaddeus Martin (Tad)
1973-77

In 1973, Joe and Ruth Martin took young Tad Gardner into their home. The boy had been abused and abandoned by his father, Ray. They fell in love with the boy and soon adopted him. Tad never played by the rules, but that didn't matter to them. He grew up and became a rebellious teen, trying to run away, doing drugs and driving the family station wagon without permission. {photo by Ann Limongello, info from Gary Warner}

 Jamil and Jamal Azizi
James Edward Martin (Jamie)
1993-94

Brooke believed she couldn't have any more children after her daughter Laura. After Laura died, she was left childless. As chance would have it, Brooke became pregnant by Tad after spending just one night together, and Jamie came along. {pic courtesy Amy}

Jamie was lucky to essentially have three parents: Tax and Brooke, as well as Dixie, Tad's wife. {pic courtesy Amy}

Jamil and Jamal were the first long-term actors in the role of Jamie. They held the role for more than a year. {pic courtesy Amy}
