Ann Delahanty (Delehanty?)
Laura Cudahy
(1984?-1988?)

Ann originated the role of Laura, playing her as a newborn up about age 2 1/2. She is the daughter of former AMC writer Lorraine Broderick. As with many young soap actors, she no longer enjoyed the role after she turned 2. The role was recast when Laura needed to have a larger part. Laura was a pretty normal kid when Ann played her.

By the time Annie was about 3, she was quite a pro onscreen. She knew she was supposed to be quiet on the set, but that didn't always stop her from ad-libbing or correcting her co-stars. One day filming had just started. Phoebe began to say her lines and Annie put her finger to her lips and said, "Shush, Phoebe, be quiet!" {pic courtesy Capital Cities/ABC, via SOD}

Laura was on hand for Tom and Skye's wedding in the late 80s. As of 2003, Ann is in college. {Photo courtesy amcpages}

Michael Deutchman
Samuel Grey
April 2001-September 2002

Michael is no stranger to soaps. He was the first Tyler Alden on The City in 1996. One actor who later played the same role was Casey Gunther, who played Petey Cortlandt on AMC at the same time Michael played Sam.

Sam offered to swab the deck of the Fidelity for a month, after some prompting from his father. This bought him a dance with the new bride, Gillian.

John E. Dunn
Tad Martin
1978-1981

In 1978, John won a Soapy award (Favorite Juvenile) for his work on AMC in the role of Tad. That year, the Soapies were broadcast on NBC's America Alive, which came live from both New York and Hollywood; so winners didn't even need to travel from their respective coasts to receive their awards. The Soapies, which were a tall geometric crystal, later became the Soap Opera Digest Awards, and changed into the heart shape they are today.

Tad felt his mother's belly. His baby brother would be born a few months later. He was very excited about the chance to be a big brother. {pics courtesy Vera, from video at wost.org}
