Unknown Actor
Christopher James Ewing
1981-1982

This unknown young actor filled in for Eric Farlow during the start of season five. He was younger than Eric and had much less hair than Eric. It was very obvious when they switched babies.

Eric didn't get much air time, even though he was apart of a huge storyline. Bobby Ewing, Christopher's adopted father, bought him from a friend of Christopher's birth mother. Bobby bought Christopher, believing that he was the son of Kristin Shepard and Jordan Lee. Pam was going crazy because of all the problems that she was having, trying to have a child of her own. Bobby tried to legally adopt but couldn't get a baby fast enough. So when this friend contacted him, he jumped on the chance to get a baby for Pam. Bobby's plans changed when he found out that Christopher was his brother J.R.'s son. He bought the baby from Jeff Faraday with all intentions of giving him to his father. {Left photo courtesy of The Ewings}

Eric played Christopher Ewing for 5 seasons of Dallas. He was recast in the 8th season of Dallas, when Christopher was aged by about two years.

Bobby was on his way home with the baby. He called and asked his sister-in-law, Donna, to take Miss Ellie, his mom, out to lunch to get her out of the house when he arrived with Christopher, so he could talk with J.R. about the baby. All plans changed again when Bobby was standing in the hall with Christopher and listening to his mother agrue with his brother, JR. He was trying to figure out what to do next.

Then Pam, who was in the mental hospital, came down the stairs and assumed the baby that her husband was holding was her child that they had been trying to adopt. She got all excited and took the baby from Bobby's arms. When Miss Ellie and J.R. came from the other room to see what all the yelling was about, Pam told them "I finally have my baby." Bobby was lost on how he was going fix this issue.

Bobby came running into Pam's business and told her the good news. Christopher's adoption was going to be finalized soon and he would be Christopher James Ewing. Pam was so excited too, but she was a little disappointed in the fact that Bobby didn't tell her about the court date. The truth was that Bobby was trying to hide the fact that JR was the father of the baby and he got the baby from a "friend," not an adoption agency. After this meeting with the judge, everything was now on the up and up as far as the adoption of Christopher was concerned.

Christopher was crying in his crib when Bobby went in to see him before bed. He picked him up and he stopped crying and then laid his head on his shoulder. Bobby told him "I'm in lots of trouble because of you. But that's ok son." Bobby was talking about the trouble that he was having with JR. JR was blackmailing Bobby. But, as long as Bobby voted his way in Ewing Oil, he wouldn't tell Pam that he was Christopher's father and file for custody. Bobby knew that JR really didn't want the baby, but he wasn't sure that he wouldn't do what he said he would.

This was the first time Christopher met his Uncle Cliff. Cliff was too busy working all the time that he never really paid attention to young Christopher. Pam changed that when she took the baby over to his house to see him and confronted him about not seeing his own nephew. From then on Cliff made it a point to visit Christopher and Pam.
