Shalane McCall
Charlotte "Charlie" Wade
1983-1990

Shalane was just 11-years-old when she got the role of Charlie Wade, the daughter of Priscilla Presley on DALLAS. Shalane got the role because when Priscilla first saw her, she said "You look so much like me, it's frightening." Shalane hadn't done any acting on a TV show. She had done 30 commercials and had won 110 beauty pageants in her home state of California and in Florida. She had also done lots of modeling. Like the character that Shalane played, she seemed mature beyond her age. "I like acting, singing, roller-staking and swimming-the same things that a lot of other kids like. And I really like doing those benefit jobs." During her first summer break from Dallas, she signed 175 autographs at a Special Olympics benefit, and walked five miles at a walkathon for the association for Retarded Citizens. She said she would like to work for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Shalane and all her trophies. She has won 110 Beauty Pageants in two states, California her home state and Florida.

Shalane had all the help she needed to become a great actress. Her mother Cherie Holton {right} helped her with anything she needed. If it meant staying up all night to learn her lines, then that was what she did. Along with her mom, she also had Priscilla Presley {left}, who played her on screen mom, helping her too. She also relied on Patrick Duffy who played Bobby Ewing and Larry Hagman who played J.R. Ewing. Shalane said it was lots of fun on the set of Dallas. "If you're trying to do a scene with Larry and Patrick, it's almost impossible. They are always messing up on purpose. When they mess up, they make it even funnier. They could do a blooper show just showing their rehearsals."

Shalane grew up in the role of Charlie. She had many scenes and lines. Even though she was only 11 when she started, she held her own.

Charlie always wanted her father to be Bobby Ewing, she found her birth certificate and saw that Bobby James Ewing was listed as her father. Jenna had no idea that her daughter had seen the birth certificate, Jenna lied on it to protect herself and Charlie from Naldo. When it was found out that she wasn't Bobby's daughter. It was ok with Charlie as long as she could be a family with her mom and Bobby. She had to wait a long time, but the dream only came true for a short time before Bobby was killed. Although Bobby and Jenna never married, they did live together at Southfork.

Charlie's father was Naldo Marchetta {left, Daniel Pilon}. He came to Dallas and kidnapped Charlie. Charlie had no idea who he was. He didn't want her because he loved her. He wanted her to get back at Jenna and Bobby. Bobby {right} saved Charlie from Naldo. Jenna was framed for murdering Naldo. When Jenna went to prison Bobby lied to the judge and told the judge that he was Charlie's father so that she wouldn't be made a ward of the state of Texas.

Charlie took Bobby's death hard, even though it was the biggest joke in prime time history. Bobby wasn't dead after all. His wife Pam woke up and he was in the shower. It was all a dream. Before Bobby was killed, he saved Jenna from a life in prison for the murder of Naldo. He found the real killer.

Shalane worked with Brad Pitt. Dallas was Brad's first job, before he was rich and famous. Brad played Randy, one of Charlie's boyfriends. He was beat up by Ray, because Ray thought that Charlie and Randy were having sex in the stables. But that wasn't the case, Ray jumped the gun.
