1994-95

Glenn Walker Harris Jr.
Sly Eckert
1991-94

One of Glenn's earliest roles was as Jason, Lloyd's {John Cusack} nephew, in Say Anything. Lloyd treated Jason like a friend instead of a nephew, which bothered his sister.

Sly was the son of Bill and Nancy Eckert and was a good friend of Lucky Spencer's. Sly and Lucky even started their own worm selling business together. Jenny Eckert, pictured here with Sly, was Bill's sister and they were all cousins of Luke Spencer. Jenny married Paul Hornsby and they became Sly's legal guardians after Bill was killed. (Nancy was murdered a few years before, and Bill was mistaken for Luke by someone trying to kill him). Even though Glenn was only a pre-teen when he was on GH, Sly already had extensive credits, including the feature films Say Anything and Wild at Heart. He also had appeared on Jake and the Fatman, Doogie Howser M.D., Empty Nest, L.A. Law and Golden Girls. He claims to have an excellent memory and loves karate and swimming. {Photos from April 8, 1991 SOU by Jim Warren}

After leaving GH, Glenn appeared in additional feature films and tv shows. He played Jeffrey Smith in North (on the right), a punk in Leave it to Beaver, and Robby Preston in Meet Wally Sparks. He also appeared on Walker, Texas Ranger (left). {Photos courtesy Star Galaxy}

Brighton Hertford
Barbara Jean Jones
1986-94

Brighton was born on June 11, 1986 and got into showbiz three months later when Y&R needed a baby that looked newborn. Since her brother and sister were already established with an agency, she saw execs, got the role and taped the next day. B.J.'s birth parents are Tony and his former wife Tania, who passed away. Bobbie helped deliver their baby girl, and to show their gratitude, Tony and Tania named their daughter Barbara Jean, or B.J. for short. Bobbie {Jackie Zeman} became B.J.'s stepmom when she and Tony married. Offscreen, it was years before Brighton knew that her onscreen mom was named Jackie. Everyone told her to call her mom when she was a toddler, so she did. Jackie notes that Brighton taught her so much about having kids. She taught her about how kids pretend and have fabulous imaginations. {info from SOD 5/31/88}

Brighton is one of the many GH kids that viewers saw grow up onscreen. She began on the show when she was 6 months old. She still just liked being one of the kids. Here she is hanging out on the winter wonderland set at GH. Once when taping, Frisco was feeding B.J., who was intent on watching and gulping the yogurt. Suddenly, she sneezed and the yogurt sprayed. {Photo by Jim Warren}

There are few soap viewers who don't know about B.J.'s death in May 1994. Even if you aren't a GH fan, you probably heard about the heart-wrenching story. B.J.'s cousin, Maxie Jones was dying from Kawasaki Syndrome, congenital heart failure, pneumonia and an extremely rare genetic P-factor. She desperately needed a heart transplant, but the chances of finding a donor was unlikely. B.J. was injured when a drunk driver hit her schoolbus. As soon as Tony saw her, he knew she was brain dead. He decided immediately that her heart should be donated to Maxie. Bobbie didn't believe B.J. was dead and refused. After both parents said goodbye to their daughter, Maxie received B.J.'s heart. Tony put his head on Maxie's chest and heard B.J.'s heart beating.

After taping her last scenes as B.J., 7 year-old Brighton was treated to a farewell party on the set. Onscreen dad Brad Maule said they planned the party because, "everyobdy wanted it to be a happy time for her and not a boo-hoo scene, just cake, happy words and presents." Among the gifts she received were some of her favorite items from her GH wardrobe, and a denim jacket with the GH logo. Brad gave Brighton an antique-style box loaded with paints and brushes, because Brighton was known for passing her time on the set by doing artwork. Brighton also gave some gifts, she presented Brad with a music box with a ballerina on top. Of course, Brighton, being a ballerina herself, knew it would remind Brad of her. She presented balloons and jelly beans to the rest of the cast and crew. Brad knew she was headed into a long career. He told her that he'd "probably end up in your office on some studio lot one day trying to get a job and saying, 'Don't you remember me? I used to be your daddy.'" {Photo and info courtesy SOW, 5/24/94}

Brighton continues to act on a regular basis in both feature films and on TV. In 1999, she appeared in the Disney Channel movie Can of Worms as Jill {on left}. That same year, she appeared as Geneva Johnson in Finding Kelly {right}. {photos courtesy childstarlets.com}

Kara and Shelby Hoffman
Kristina Davis
July 23, 2003-2003

Kristina went from being a very pudgy infant to a lean toddler when Kara and Shelby took over the role. {photos courtesy GH World, left 7.30.03, right 8.8.03}

On 11/7/03, Alexis regained full custody of Kristina. Ned relinquished his rights and Judge Farmer didn't want Kristina with Cameron Lewis any longer. So, Cameron brought Kristina to the courthouse and after discussing things with Judge Farmer, custody was awarded to Alexis. Kristina slept through the whole event. The girls were only in the role for a few short months, probably only appearing a handful of times.

Kara Irene and Shelby Ann Hoffman were born in California. It was clear from their first steps at nine months old that the identical twin sisters possessed a natural charm that would make them shine on screen. In June 2003, after demonstrating an effortless ability to take direction and melt people's hearts with their warm smiles and playful personalities, Kara and Shelby secured their first shared role as baby Kristina on General Hospital. {bio courtesy tvtome.com, banner courtesy baron entertainment}

Kara {left} and Shelby's treasure chest of captivating facial expressions caught the attention of producers at Paramount and landed them the part of Sunny in the movie Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. The film is due out in late 2004 and stars Jim Carrey and Meryl Streep. {bio courtesy tvtome.com, pics from trailer at themoviebox.net}

Blake and Dylan Hopkins
Michael Morgan
1997-2001

For the first two years of his life, it was believed Jason {Steve Burton} was Michael's father. Actually, it was Jason's brother, A.J. {Billy Warlock}. Carly hated A.J. and didn't want Michael to be a part of his life. The boy was considered the heir to the Quartermaine fortune and was the object of everyone's affection, especially his great-grandfather's, Edward.

Jason was Michael's main caregiver in his first few months of life. Carly was in a mental hospital for nearly killing Tony Jones, who she originally believed to be Michael's father. Jason read to Michael all the time. He loved to read books about all the places he had traveled. Here he read Michael a book about Italy. He always promised Michael that one day he would take him to all of those wonderful places. {pic courtesy ?}

Michael meets his great great grandmother, Lila Quartermaine. Michael grew up barely knowing the Quartermaines, but they always held a place in their heart for him.

A fan created the piece of artwork on the left to go along with ABC's "yellow" summer ad campaign. It epitomizes how many fans feel about Blake and Dylan. Obviously they love each other as well. {Photo on right courtesy Sarah Brown.net}

For a long time, Carly hoped that Jason could become Michael's father, even though he wasn't his biological father. After she fell in love with Sonny, Carly decided Sonny should be his father. Michael lovingly referred to him as "Uncle Sonny." {Photo on right by Tom Queally}

In their last few appearances on the show, Blake and Dylan {shown here} were attempting dialogue. They always spoke in the background on the show, as young children do (although not usually young soap children), but not like this. It was hard to tell which parts were scripted, as most of it came from the heart. In this scene in early 2001, AJ {Billy Warlock} met up with Michael in the park and gave him a bear. Dylan was very confused about who he was and asked, "What's your name?" Billy said, "I am your dad." Dylan told him, "I already have a dad." Of course Michael did have a dad in Sonny. When AJ gave Michael the bear, Dylan asked, "Can Blake have one of these?" Billy ignored him, since it didn't fit in the script. Dylan wouldn't give it up, again saying, "Blake would like one of these." Billy continued to say his lines, not answering Dylan. It was soon after that Michael was aged and recast.
