Betsy and Bobby were born to Valene in November 1984 and were believed dead until searching led Mac, Karen, Gary and Val to find out that they had been sold on the black market. The babies were adopted by the Fishers. |

When they were returned to Val, she continued to let everyone think that their father was Ben Gibson, although she and Ben both knew that Gary was their father. Val named her son Bobby just after she learned that Bobby Ewing had died. |

Ben and Mack nearly stumbled onto the twins in "A Piece of the Pie" on March 7, 1985. They went to the Fisher household searching for information about Galveston. Shelia Fisher's name had been in a Galveston file. There they talked with Shelia and met her son. What they didn't realize was that her other child, a girl, was upstairs. Later the two babies {girl on left, boy on right} sat in their high chairs, ready to eat. Viewers realized these must be Val's "dead" children, although it would be several months until Val would find out. |

|
Val became aware that her twins were alive at the beginning of the 1985-1986 season in an episode titled "The Longest Day." The babies had been sold on the black market and adopted by Shelia {Robin Ginsburg} and Cary {Joe Regalbuto} Fisher. Val was reunited with them in the next episode. |

By 1986, Ben {Doug Sheehan}, Val {Joan Van Ark}, Betsy and Bobby were living a happy homelife. However, Val was still uneasy because Gary bestowed a large gift on the twins. He gave them half of Empire Valley, in an effort to acknowledge that he was their real father. |
|
In 1987 when Joseph and Christian Cousins took over the role of Bobby and Tiffany and Kathryn Lubran began in the role of Betsy, the characters were without a father. Val allowed Gary to see his children, but they still believed him to be their "Uncle Gary." As toddlers, Ben had been the only father they really knew, but he left in 1986 and didn't come back. Ben's ex, Jean Hackney, arrived in town and began to harass them with late-night phone calls. Later, Ben became Peter Hollister's press secretary, and was manipulated by Jean to tap into Greg Sumner's computer. Jean later orders Ben to kill Greg, but when he can't go through with it, Ben and Val plan to leave town to escape Jean's powerful grip and her threats to their family. When Jean foils their exit plan, Ben leaves by himself for an assignment in South America. |

Emily Ann Lloyd {Betsy} and Christian and Joseph Cousins {Bobby} appeared together in Kindergarten Cop before they played twins on Knots Landing. |

Betsy {Emily} and Bobby {Joseph} were stolen after they were born and Val and Gary were told they were dead. The babies were sold on the black market. They were toddlers by the time they were returned to their parents. |

Unlike most shows, the Knots kids were treated like regular cast members. They always went to appearances. Emily Ann Lloyd, Christian and Joseph Cousins and Rhianna Janette are pictured with other KL cast members. {pic courtesy Amy} |
