Eden gave birth to Adriana in a cave. The Capwells were on a train to celebrate New Year's Eve when Eden went into labor. The train stopped and a helicopter picked up Cruz and Eden. The weather was bad and they couldn't get to a hospital, so they landed and got to a nearby cave, where they were inspired by the cave paintings that showed women in labor. They took Adriana to the hospital soon after. The baby was kidnapped just after this photo was taken. {Photo by Rosemary Rossi} |

Baby Adriana spent time with a caregiver just after being kidnapped by Zack (Eden's doctor). Cruz searched for her, but eventually was told by Zack that she had been killed. He saw her bloody shirt as "proof." A devastated Cruz went home to break the news to Eden. Distressed, Eden retreated to Adriana's nursery. A month or so later, she went to Paris with her sister Kelly, in an effort to get over the loss of her baby. Viewers didn't see Eden or the baby for a while, as actress Marcy Walker was on maternity leave. {pics courtesy Julya, via Vera, right--5/26/89} |

Adriana was reunited with her parents in Paris. In a horrible coincidence, she had been adopted by Ric Castillo and his wife, Phyllis, who were Adriana's aunt and uncle. Eden became baby Charisse's nanny while trying to discover the truth about her missing daughter. The family was estatic when they were reunited in Paris. They immediately had her baptized with her new name, Adriana Sophia Castillo. She was now almost 6 months old. {5/25/89 episode} |
